Bravo to Indiana! Law Enforcement Officers CAN BE SHOT!!!!

Chris - The Rowdy One! #187 2012/06/12 10:45:21
Law enforcement officers need to follow the laws of nature - it is about time. People do have a right to protect their private property; even from government thugs.

EFF YEAH!

If ANYONE comes into my house without an invite, they are going to be dropped. I do not care who they are.

Hats off to Governor Daniels and everyone else involved in making things Constitutionally right for a change.

NOTE: I do not block. You are free to come here and spew venom or whatever else makes you happy.

You are quite funny....where will you be appearing next?

I do not intend to kill anyone. I hope I never ever have to.

The officers standing in front of you with their weapons pointing at your chest won't ask about your deeply felt intentions regarding using the thing in your hands. You might be given a second or even two to throw it away, but likely not. As your last visions of this world leave your dying brain, remember that someone told you here on SH that this was a terribly bad idea and would lead to a lot of innocent people being killed. Be sure to let your family know your desires for a funeral and burial before you pick up the weapon and point it at a police officer.

Yeah...that was never the point I was making dude. I was not saying we need to right to run around shooting ANYONE let alone cops.

The whole point was that there should not be some special punishment for a citizen shooting someone entering their house by surprise regardless of who the person is....that is all.

I think we know how you guys get your panties in a wad over a cop being shot even if it was his/her fault and the desire to extract some sort or revenge on the citizen that dropped the hammer on them. You should have some sort of compassion for us commoners that are forced to bow in your presence.
  • ducdodger Chris -... 2012/07/05 18:58:34
    ducdodger
I tell you what when you have been to as many cop funerals as I have and have watched a fellow office die in the street because of some jack ass who feels he is above the law youd get your panites in a wad too. The problem with that law is that we get no knock warrants all the time and this oks the the bad guys to open fire and kill cops for doing their jobs. I have plenty of compassion for people just not the ones like you or the criminals.
  • Chris -... ducdodger 2012/07/05 19:04:53
Chris - The Rowdy One! #187
Well, to me.....no knock = bang bang

Good luck. You want to lump me in with criminals then I feel the same about you. You are just a crim with a badge. The government gave you the right to be a dick and you want us to stand there and take it. Well not this guy.

I was in the Army for a while (8 years) so I know all about "getting off my ass" and I have every right to say what I feel in regards to tyranny.

You think I am low here; you should see what I think of the United Nations and the other evil big government police state lovers.

Good for you you served 8 years in the army i did 20 retired and still took another job serving the people of this country. Well I do believe we have common ground here I too hate the un and big government. But I believe in law and order.

Chris - The Rowdy One! #187
    I'll ignore the backhanded insult.

I believe in law and order as well. I just do not believe in a big government sending in thugs to break down my doors. I'm sorry that you take my feelings on liberty as just wanting to shoot people. I don't want to shoot ANYONE.
  • ducdodger Chris -... 2012/07/09 19:49:12
    ducdodger
The point you seem to be missing here is that the cops just don't go kicking in doors just for the hell of it, there are reason and to do wha we do we have to get warrants. My point here is that Indiana has made it legal for any one good or bad to shoot a cop when they are doing their job.
  • Chris -... ducdodger 2012/07/09 21:21:19
Chris - The Rowdy One! #187
I would not think they do it for the hell of it. I realize mistakes can be made. I am told that police officers are human and can be wrong. Citizens sitting in their house that get surprised by a cop breaking down their door and shoot them are making an unintended mistake as well.....they should not have to pay for that mistake just because it turned out to be a cop.

Their human life is of no greater, or lesser, value than the next person.

those incidents are few and far between, and even scarcer when it involves someone dieing. And when they do its because they chose to pull a weapon on the police. When we enter a home for those types of search warrant we use only the amount of force nesscary to control the situation.
  • Chris -... ducdodger 2012/07/11 21:40:15
Chris - The Rowdy One! #187
Then if the incidents are few and far between you have very little to worry about in that regard then.

    See.....argument solved!
  • ducdodger Chris -... 2012/07/11 21:49:36
    ducdodger
No the problem is that Indiana gave a green light for anyone to use force whether the warrant is legal or not. If you read the law now where in there does it police involved in illegal acts. So the law gives anyone the affirmative defense to shoot a cop whether it legal or not.
  • Chris -... ducdodger 2012/07/12 13:47:41
Chris - The Rowdy One! #187
That is not how I read it and I doubt that is how a judge will view it.

Its all in how the law is written if it said something about the police being lawfully there it would be different but it doesn't.

Well then don't call us for anything. Hopefully you nor you family are ever in need of a police officer. Because of people who think like you they may never come. But keep this in mind the next time you bash on us cops

That cop you call a jerk for writing you a ticketmay have just spent three hours working a crash where a family of four was killed by a drunk driver and had to explain that to the spouse. We work hurt, sick, hungry and tired. We are continuously ask to do more with less and to do it with a smile on our faces. Why do we do it not for the pay check cause that sucks, No because we love our jobs and because we care about the people we serve. Think about that the next time you threat to shoot a cop because he is called to you house for some unknown reason and he want to walk inside to make sure you and your family are ok. Or they may just end up like Dr. Petit in New Haven Conn. did.

I try not to call unless absolutely necessary.

I have nothing against cops and I think you are under the impression I want to kill them; I don't.

Grow up and learn what this law actually means before you let emotion blind you.

Hey, it is the place to go boil up some Meth or break down packs of cocaine into bags. If the cops come around, there will always be time to flush the evidence and wash the pans before answering the door.

In fact, it is likely that cops will just stop answering 911 calls and telephone ahead instead, asking if its all right to "come over". That seems like the politically correct thing for them to do now, given the audacity of this new law. I suppose the Fire Department will also be bound by this law so they will just have to await someone to open the door even if the smoke and flames are visible. Maybe they should also just call ahead and make an appointment?

Chris, you obviously think this law and the conversation about it is some sort of game that has no consequences. That indicates to me that you are quite young, given to knee jerks and silliness, maybe an expert in video games where all the dead can be restored by clicking on the "reset" button. Reality isn't quite like that. Once dead, always dead. That will be the fate of anyone stupid enough to point a weapon at a police officer, regardless of whether the officer entered the room "appropriately" or not. Such a confrontation is not subject to "reset", it is a matter of life or death, and the officers number in the dozens if necessary, all trained in their profession and prepared to blow your brains all over the walls if you have fired at one of them.

Sometimes, in order to preserve law and order in a complicated society, even the innocent caught in circumstances beyond their control, must "submit" to what is
inevitable and hope to work it out later. I can image that Wyatt Earp might have
shot a fool or two who refused to leave their pistols at the town limits as the sign
demanded. Perhaps they couldn't read, or just rode into town and didn't see the signs. Do you remember their names? No, no one remembers them. And, no one will remember your name if you are so foolish as to think you can win a shootout with your local law enforcement.
