Everybody know the famous picture of Barrack Obama Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem.

Does this man not cross his heart when the National Anthem is playing, or when the flag is raised or lowered? OR, was this an accident on his part?

Photo shows 4 of them, including the infamous Hillary...

anthem playing flag raised lowered accident photo 4 infamous hillary
Photograph shows Barack Obama without his hand over his heart while the U.S. national anthem is being played.

Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem. Barack Hussein Obama's photo.... the article said he REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE..

How in the hell can a man like this expect to be our 2nd term Commander-in-Chief????

Although the custom is sometimes more honored in the breach than in the observance, the U.S.Flag Code states that:

During a rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.

The photograph itself is real, one of several images of the Iowa steak fry event published by Time, and shows Barack Obama standing with his hands clasped just below his waist, while New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, New York senator Hillary Clinton, and Ruth Harkin (wife of Iowa senator Tom Harkin) stand with their hands held over their hearts. It's difficult to judge exactly what's going on from a single still image (it's possible, for example, that the photograph captured an instant just before or just after the national anthem was played, and Senator Obama had not yet raised his right hand or had just lowered it), but other accounts (including the following ABC News video of the event) indicate that the picture is as described:

(It's also not clear from the photograph or the video just what the candidates are looking at. The Flag Code advises that they should be "standing at attention facing the flag," but none of them is facing the flag displayed behind the platform on which they're standing. Presumably there's another flag off to the right of the platform, since most of them are facing that direction.)

Please watch this video:

As for whether this incident was an "accident," whether Senator Obama habitually declines to perform the hand-over-heart gesture, or whether there's any particular meaning to the (non-) action, an Obama campaign spokesperson responded: "Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. In no way was he making any sort of statement, and any suggestion to the contrary is ridiculous." The senator himself said that "My grandfather taught me when I was 2. During the Pledge of Allegiance, you put your hand over your heart. During the national anthem, you sing."

Does this man not cross his heart when the National Anthem is playing, or when the flag is raised or lowered? OR, was this an accident on his part?

I must to admit there are no much choices. I would pick on Rudi Guilliani, but unfortunately he is not in the race. Don't like Romney, but I don't see another choice.

American can not isolated herself from the entire world if she want to keep play a major position in the world.
  • olylift Speedy 2012/06/18 00:21:31

That's not isolation. We would still continue to trade with the world. If we were to take an isolationist position, trade wouldn't go on. We can still be a world power and not police the whole world.

You don't get it, eh? If America wants to keep her interests around the world, she need to pay, that's what makes her 'global empire'. If America will draw pull herself back, she will become as Britain, what left from the British Empire? Nada!

I'd love to see another country try to invade America. Our population is so armed the Department of Homeland Security is buying ammunition in case we have an uprising.

Who spoke about invading America? You sound like a filthy child, "my dad is stronger than your", "my country is greatest than yours"... etc. Grow up.

I believe the man does not love this country. No, I don't think he should continue in that office. He is a liar and a thief and needs to be voted out.
God does still love him and is still giving him the opportunity to bow his knee before Him.
We can only pray that that happens.
