White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett has adopted a stance on unemployment that is sure to infuriate many, arguing that it stimulates the economy because people who receive unemployment checks are going out and spending them, reports The Weekly Standard.
“Even though we had a terrible economic crisis three years ago, throughout our country many people were suffering before the last three years, particularly in the black community. And so we need to make sure that we continue to support that important safety net.
"It not only is good for the family, but it’s good for the economy,” Jarrett argued during a speaking engagement at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina.
“People who receive that unemployment check go out and spend it and help stimulate the economy, so that’s healthy as well,”

Yet there was not one passed for the 2010 or 2011 fiscal year. are you slowor just playing dumb? . give up already.
Wayne Vroman, an economist and senior fellow at the Urban Institute for the Department of Labor, calculates the amount of gross domestic product growth attributable to unemployment benefits each quarter from the third quarter of 2008 to the second quarter of 2010. He take those numbers and multiply them by the jobs multiplier that Vroman calculates for the entire period.

i wish math really did work like they say it does. because if i took out a dollar from my wallet and put a dollar back in according to them i would now have two dollars! We'd all be rich if that actually worked, huh?

The CBO report instead contends that extending unemployment benefitsis the best way to create new jobs in the short term. The Center ofAmerican Progress recently supported this claim http://www.americanprogress.o... by arguing unemployment benefits provide the greatest benefit to thelabor market when unemployment is at its worst. Indeed, according to a2010 report by the Urban Institute, for every dollar the governmentspends on unemployment benefits, two are put back into the economy. http://wdr.doleta.gov/researc...
how can a American-based start-up business compete with a country that US's NUMBER ONE importer? China has a big monopolization of the solar power industry. You must be economics illiterate.
BTW, The loan guarantees given to Solyndra was a bipartisan effort no matter how you fail at trying to spin it.
