Born Rich: Ever wonder what it would be like, to be born into 'old money'?

The Truth 2012/04/06 14:27:41
Born Rich - Documentary about being born into wealth. Made by Johnson & Johnson heir Jamie Johnson. An interesting look on the other side of the spectrum revisiting the case that wealth does not necessarily bring happiness.

Right now at work on my crappy dial-up connection, so I can't watch the video. But anyhow, if I had the money I could then afford the high-speed at work and thus not be limited. The lil cutesy phrase I have heard many times - "Money won't buy you happiness." - is a flat out friggin' lie!! Told to the peons of the world by the filthy rich!! Think about it...ya wanna take a vacation to anywhere in the world, but ya can't cuz ya have to work and slave up for it. But if you had money..not an issue..blink, ..on a plane and you're there!!
So, the next fool that says to me "Money won't buy you happiness." ...Is going home with a fat lip!!

The correct foundation, from conception, can truly resolve this issue.

"A man is about as happy as he decides to be"
I am happy. My wife is miserable.

We both live off of the same paycheck.

Most ppl I know suffer from some degree of unhappiness, disillusionment, and/or depression. The most depressed person I know is also the richest person I know, by far. (Sole heir to a Quaker Oats fortune.) When you're born into 'old money', you're born into the longstanding family system that controls the money. The money is yours only if you go along with the familial system. So it just depends with WHOM you are trapped in that bank vault. It's often not much of a choice. You can have the money, or you can be yourself and have your freedom, but not both....Live on daddy's money, play by daddy's rules: Doesn't matter if daddy is your daddy or your Uncle Sam.

LOL I feel ya!! But the really sad thing is You can have money to do anything you want, and still not be happy... But at least with money, that's one less thing to keep you from happiness. ;)

Yep, happiness is just and only a state of mind. Has nothing really to do with material assets. I can have lots of money, and still have moments of unhappiness, but with money they will be very short lived moments ...haha! Without $...a lot longer unhappiness.

P.S. Some of the best times I ever had in my life, were in places money was only good for toilet paper.

LOL, Amen to that! I like to say, everything worth doing is better barefoot!
Now I will add your wisdom, and call it a list:
    1. Everything worth doing is better barefoot, and
    2. Everything worth doing is better done in places where money is only good for toilet paper.

"Everything worth doing is better ______________ " --

Fill in the blank and pass it on. We'll make a list that will make us HAPPY. ;-)

Btw, a cheap 4pack of TP rolls can be had for a dollar. They don't weigh much, they are way more absorbent, LOL, and retain their value way longer on the shelf. I think the gov. should lift restrictions on competing currency and let's start trading in TP.

Given gas prices, I think you'd be udsidedown in your truck. The load would not cover the cost of transport. lol
