ChrisP 2009/03/09 14:16:47 (edited)+2It's not about whether we need Volcano monitoring or not... it's about stimulus. VOLCANO MONITORING IS NOT STIMULUS, PERIOD! The stimulus bill should only have included items to stimulate the economy immediately. Volcano monitoring does not belong in the porkulus package, it's a budgetary item.

Jindal showed his ignorance when speaking about volcano monitoring. Also he is just another politician who only cares about those who contributed to his campaign. With that the appointments he made to state commissions were all people who had contributed $ to his campaign. Furthermore he spends too much time traveling the country making a name for himself.reply - Peanut Santiago 2009/03/12 06:20:41
That would be like Palin criticizing hurricane monitoring..... Alaska does not get hurricanes.... (Folks, I could NOT resist, though this has nothing to do with political party and everything to do with not thinking first.)reply - ChrisP 2009/03/09 14:16:47 (edited)

+1yes, keep defending Obama's multi-trillion dollar give aways and youll eventually wake up and we will be wiped off the face of the earth. This is a non american citizen muslim who's friends typically hate america. You people defend him because youre blind. You wouldnt care what he said, youd support his madness. This man is quite mad.reply - aherbert 2009/03/05 15:50:12
+1Bobby Jindal sounds like Mr. Rodgers..... The reason the floods was so devastating in his state is because we have not been paying much attention to our infrastructure. Please with the changing patterns of the weather I think studying the volcanoes is a good thing. The republicans complain about everything but does not have a new ideal or plan to curve the mess they got American in... They really have some nervereply - cat 2009/03/05 02:21:26
+2If you really listened to this man, you would have thought he was reading a bedtime story to all of us. He spoke to all like we were a bunch of little children that would not understand big words.reply - aherbert cat 2009/03/05 15:51:05
+2That is because he is use to speaking to his party members like that - he forgot to consider his entire audience.reply - Rob 2009/03/05 01:52:21
+1Does Jindal want the government to stop monortring hurricanes? My weather radio will go off if the volcano is going to have a major eruption. Mt Redoubt is the dominant feature when I look to the west when I am on the highway but since I live in the woods the volcano is obscured. Knowing that it is about to blow 80 miles from my home has allowed me to put away a lot of extra provisions so that I will be able to stay indors if ash falls for a number of days or months. I have a couple of pairs of panty hose to block the glass like ash from my air filter and I have masks for everyone in the family. When the volcano does blow everyone in the family should make it home before the ash falls. I am hoping that it happens sooner than later because the ash helps the garden tremendously!reply - Jenny 2009/03/04 16:17:14
+1I think it's irresponsible for Jindal to criticize Obama after the Congressional speech. I also think it's ridiculous to not support the volcano monitoring after the Hurricane Katrina fiasco. The governor lies about being in New Orleans. While people were losing their homes and lives, Jindal was in Baton Rouge. He's a liar.reply - cranken 2009/03/04 15:28:24
+1If he had focused on the spending that went into Reagan's refitting the USS Iowa ($550 million when overtime charges are included in getting it done on time and ahead of schedule) when we didn't need a battleship and that now is waiting for a non-profit to take it over, he might have caught my eye, but $140 million that will actually protect people from something that could be devastating, whats the beef?reply - redfish 2009/03/04 01:39:48
+1What would a swamp rat coonass from louisiana know about monitoring volcanoes? Maybe he should move to the base of mount saint helen and let us know his best guess of when it will blow again.reply - kmay 2009/02/26 20:49:48
+1"Instead of monitoring volcanoes, what Congress should be monitoring is the eruption of spending in Washington," ........Loved it!reply - vduhr kmay 2009/03/04 19:06:16
+1Typical pandering to the Republican base. Use words that are placed in such a way, and leave out any details so that the ignorant base will not question, but only follow. When will Republicans learn that the rest of the country is getting wise to their lies.reply
