The Washington Post's Bob Woodward ripped into President Barack Obama on "Morning Joe" today, saying he's exhibiting a "kind of madness I haven't seen in a long time" for a decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf because of budget concerns.

"Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying, 'Oh, by the way, I can't do this because of some budget document?'" Woodward said.

"Or George W. Bush saying, 'You know, I'm not going to invade Iraq because I can't get the aircraft carriers I need?'" Or even Bill Clinton saying, 'You know, I'm not going to attack Saddam Hussein's intelligence headquarters,' ... because of some budget document?"

The Defense Department said in early February that it would not deploy the U.S.S. Harry Truman to the Persian Gulf, citing budget concerns relating to the looming cuts known as the sequester.

"Under the Constitution, the President is commander-in-chief and employs the force. And so we now have the President going out because of this piece of paper and this agreement. 'I can’t do what I need to do to protect the country,'" Woodward said.

"That’s a kind of madness that I haven't seen in a long time," he said.

It's hard to see how Obama's reaction to sequestration is any different than a spoiled little boy punishing everyone until he gets his way.

I would agree, except I think it's actually Obama's plan to tear this country down. However Obama, his minions, and sheep will still blame Bush for it all.

Soetoro is really not Commander in Chief, nor President of the USA, so it's not the piece of paper which he is using as his scapegoat that is the problem - it's his fraudulently holding office that keeps the meter in the incompetent zone. incompetence meter

Woodward is being hammered by the Whitehouse and the liberal press for telling the truth these days. This is just a glimpse of what the first ammendment looks like when it is taken away. Freedom of the Press!!!! Obama has every news station covering for him except for Fox news.

For telling the truth, Woodward is being attacked by the brown nosing press who fear not only retribution by the WH just like what they did to Woodward, but also by the loss of access to the WH. Bob Woodward has more integrity and skills as a journalist than any of those who are attacking him.

The sequester was his and his adviser's idea dreamed up just so he could then 'fight' it and blame the GOP when it supposedly harmed the government programs that really ARE going to be harmed by HIS policies. Now he's really fighting it because when it doesn't do any harm to anything, everyone will realize the government isn't nearly as important, or is way bigger than it needs to be. He's releasing illegals and holding back ships to make it LOOK like the sequester is to blame...before it even starts!

I agree with Bob's views of Washington D.C and the madness of Establishment world and on the views of the President's. Many of you who born after early 80's don't know who Bob Woodward is.. Bob was the best we ever had who found the dots( connection get- through to) ( come out of reports) that there was dishonesty among both parties in Washington D.C and led President Nixon to resigned from White House back then. Bob knows Washington D.C and politics world very well.

Bob Woodward has gone through threats many times and came through it stronger(last time) and out smart the politicians from both sides. Bob broke the dots and found the connections which led Nixon(70's) to resign from White House. Bob knows no one likes to have their information come out(leak) of White House.. on both sides.. I admire Bob for his determination and wants to know more of what is going on inside WH rather than what being told in public...

...and you think that a carrier group is the most effective means of keeping shipping lanes open from attacks from speedboats?

Uh I'm pretty sure the advanced defensive systems of today's Carrier Groups which include many different vessels will take care of their "speed boats" LMAO!

Remember idiot, Google is your friend, look it up, those "speed boats" would be on the ocean floor in minutes...

What a Libtard with no knowledge. Typical Obamao voter
  • Thom Payne paulvic... 2013/03/02 17:36:43
    Thom Payne
But, do you really need a carrier group to take out a few speed boats? Sounds to me like trying kill flies with a .357 - it works really well when you hit one, but the collateral damage is unacceptable.

Remember boy, you are talking to a retired Army officer and and man with a 100 ton captains license and I have forgotten more about national defense and foreign policy than a mental midget like yourself will ever know.

We can do the same mission and do it better without the cost of sending an entire carrier group.

    F'ng contard.

Yeah right....I believe that's your resume.....if you were even in the Military it must have been as a cook or REMF. And they have more then "A few speedboats" ya dope. There's fighter jets (like the ones on our Carrier to counter them.....) Anti-Ship missiles and all sorts of other stuff. You Libtards want to send in the SS Minnow....LOL

Before his first election as POTUS, he is on-record telling us: "We're going to show them how it's done on the South Side of Chicago". No madness, just SOP. Kinda makes you wonder if Supreme Court Justice Roberts was also told: "you and everything you love are going to regret this if....."before he "flip-flopped" on Obamacare.

Yep..It's called McCarthyism Born in Wisconsin in 1908, Joseph Raymond McCarthy attended Marquette University and became an attorney in 1935, smack in the middle of the Great Depression. He became the youngest circuit court judge in Wisconsin history when he defeated an incumbent in 1939. During World War II, he joined the Marines, where he was promoted to captain. After two years, though, he left because of a broken bone in his foot that was suffered during a hazing ritual. In 1944 he ran for U.S. Senate, parlaying his military service into the patriotic persona of "Tail Gunner Joe." He didn't win that time, but did take the ticket in 1946 when he became Wisconsin's junior senator.

McCarthy burst onto the national scene several years later. In 1950, during a highly controversial speech at a Lincoln's Birthday luncheon, he waved around a list of 205 names of supposed active communists holding jobs in the State Department. Just replace McCarthy with Obama..the difference being Obama wants to stick it to America while even though Joe's motives we're correct the means we're devastating
