Blockbuster is seeking aid in bankruptcy. Blockbuster shares were down 76% to 23 cents before trading was halted. We all saw this day coming few years back. With today's technology and Americans staying lazy, who wants to pick up and drop off a movie these days? We have Netflix, Hulu, Tivo, and torrents... all specifically designed to watch movies with leaving your home. Who's to blame the most?

As soon as there were other options, I never used them again. Blockbuster came out with a service similar to Netflix, but people weren't interested in it. I know at one point it was cheaper than Netflix and I didn't even consider switching to it, because of my past experience with them. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone.
So I think a big contributing factor in Blockbuster's failure is their arrogance in addition to their high price.
