What happened to unity and equality? If there where white only groups as there are black only groups the black community would sue for access and have many times. Racism has no color!
What ever happed to this idea?
Taylor, no one should be called racist for not supporting Obama. People should support the candidate that shares similar views about our nation's issues. Usually people who say this are confused. Probably something you said was racist or came across to someone as racist. When they called you on it you thought it was because of your candidate choice.
I don't know the specifics in your situation, but many people on sodahead think that they are not racist but say and uprave racist comments. The candidate you support has no bearing on whether you are viewed as racist, but the words or images you post and/or uprave are judged by everyone who sees them whether they say it or not.
That is terribly unfortunate. I know that I had a similar bad experience in the primary when a woman emailed me, scolded me for several paragraphs, and told me I was betraying my womanhood, all because I had not supported the woman candidate. For people like the one you mentioned and the one who emailed me all I can say is that they do not know what is at stake for our future. We can not afford to let such an important election be about gender or race. We have a failing economy and wars that are bankrupting out nation. We have real issues and we need to be a serious electorate who studies the plans and votes accordingly. We have a nation in peril. It is time to be wise and refuse to be manipulated by the media serving their corporate owners interests instead of our own.
i think if we did whites for mccain they'd say we were racist...shouldnt be stated like that....actually do they realize that statements like that could actually lose him the election from people (of all colors) who are tired of the race card... the statements like that piss me off...
True that! Never thought of it that way ... yeah. You're right, marybeth ... Oprah definitely pulled a race card when she decided to promote the DO NOTHING junior senator. That really irked me and I did lose all respect that I had for her!
The very images posted here are racist. Posting imagines and accusing blacks of playing a race card, which is an insulting notion because my race is not a card game and the best player wins, is racist.
I am speaking of the images above, Taylor. I do find the question to have undertones of racism. I assume you are trying to find an answer. I don't believe I have said you are a racist.
i do wanna say that i am for obama...however,the race card could definately cost him my vote...i like him i like michelle i think they will be great and with biden ...perfect match...the election should not be a race issue in anyway shape or form...
I'd say it makes them misguided. If they are voting for him strictly because he's black it kind of sad that they are so in need to have black president that they are willing to vote for anyone. I find it much more important that the person, whether black white man or woman, is qualified for the job. I think in most cases it's not racism that makes them pull the lever but it is about race.
why is it ok to vote for a candidate because he is black, but racist if you vote for one because he is white. I see alot of racism and the majority is blacks against whites. People take reverse discrimination like it is a joke. that blacks don't do it, but that is so wrong it exists every day in every corner of this nation.Obama's wife wrote a 256 page thesis in college on the effect of the black man dealing with white america. a "Look how terrible those white people are to us black folks" paper or should i say book.
No,it doesn't,not all black people are going to vote for obama, and same with whites, they will both look at the facts, and choose the best candidates based on there speeches, not there color, some people are just ignorant, and will not even watch the political candidates speak, and choose whoever they think look better, and thats stupid, and not helping the world at all.

Have you now or have you ever seen me post racist content.
True that, too. Well, not all of it. But the misguided part for sure! I don't believe libs are any worse than neo cons. Just my opinion, though.
