Billions of dollars in federal aid delivered directly to the local level to help revive the economy have gone overwhelmingly to places that supported President Obama in last year's presidential election.

That aid — about $17 billion — is the first piece of the administration's massive stimulus package that can be tracked locally. Much of it has followed a well-worn path to places that regularly collect a bigger share of federal grants and contracts, guided by formulas that have been in place for decades and leave little room for manipulation.

"There's no politics at work when it comes to spending for the recovery," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says.

Counties that supported Obama last year have reaped twice as much money per person from the administration's $787 billion economic stimulus package as those that voted for his Republican rival, Sen. John McCain, a USA TODAY analysis of government disclosure and accounting records shows. That money includes aid to repair military bases, improve public housing and help students pay for college.

The reports show the 872 counties that supported Obama received about $69 per person, on average. The 2,234 that supported McCain received about $34.

The blue counties hold all those who need tax payer monies to survive. And yes, they are the people who elected the usurper. This map makes it easy for me to decide where to locate,,,thanks, ripped!

This is way the stimulus bilss did not allow the States to decide where the money would be used and it designated it to specific community uses or agencies making sure it would be pay back to Obama supporters and encourage
more votes for future elections.

There are over 6 million disabled mentally ill Americans suffering from a no fault mental illness in this COuntry.. They (if Lucky) get appx. $550 a month in benefits from the states. Most are homeless. Most have no medical insurance, nor dental insurance. Others have no one to help them get anything. Yet oour Government continues to give billions to other Countries that if the truth were known probably never gets to where it was intended. Government equals organized crime.

Yey us. I live in CT one of the bluest stats in the nation. Home of none other then Mr. DUdd. I am not even sure why I get out of bed to go vote any more. Kind of like peain gin the ocean and hoping it will warm up.

But heck at least we got some stim moning. EEw can ya just feel the economy surigng. Oh, wait I think it is just dry heaving!!

During the Depression, FDR distributed aid money with a political agenda too, but did the opposite. He channeled most of the funds to states in which his popularity was low. These were, not surprisingly, the states which needed help the least. In contrast, states in which his vote was guaranteed were given less help, even though they were the poorest states. Studies have shown that aid was distributed not according to need but according to who needed "sweetening up" the most vote wise. Of course, this was at a time that FDR was seeking reelection and so we can assume that if it were just after his reelection, like Obama, the money would have been distributed to reward loyalty.

Of course, none of the electorate had any idea of this at the time, it only came out years later when studies were done into the way aid was distributed during the Depression.

Maybe the next election should be decided on by the number of counties that vote for you. 872 to 2,234 you would think McCain would have won hands down.

I would not be surprised if he buys his seat, again. Have you seen Corzine out there working his bull on the poor neighborhoods,,,,"it's all for the children" crap? Corzine is a socialist,,,by the way,,,go on Mark Levin's site and read the interview he had with a woman who reported on her visit to a LaRaza (sp?) meeting in Newark. It is an eye opener.
