BILL O'REILLY AND BARACK OBAMA?

right this time August 10, 2009 13:40:38

Bill O'Reilly this past week wrote an article for Parade Magazine in which he praises Obama as an excellent model for children. Among the things he feels the President is teaching children are the following five lessons: Forgivness, Repect, Persistence, Hard Work and that we can make Our Dreams Come True because Anything In America is Possible. Is it possible that the extreme right is going to actually quit demonizing all things Barack or is this a calculated effort on Bill O'Reilly's part to look more "fair and balanced?"

O'Reilly has decided to separate himself a little bit from the wing nuts.

O'Reilly was giving a commentary that put aside the politics and focused on another aspect here. It's good to see news personalities capable of that.

That sums it up for me!

I think the right wing-nuts have gone so around the bend that perhaps even Bill O'Reilly wants to separate himself a little. The "birthers" leader is a genuine nut case, forever immortalized in a hilarious skit on Comedy Central. Sarah Palin lies that President Obama has a "death panel, then the next day she pleads for civil discourse. Maybe it's all gotten to be a bit too much for even Bill O'Reilly. I read the article in which he praises President Obama for overcoming hardship and working hard for all he achieved.

I have noticed a few of the Fox personalities making some small attempts to offer a more balanced perspective. I'm a little surprised O'Reilly has taken a positive step. But maybe now that he has Beck nipping at his heels and screaming down the hallway, O'Reilly can see just how ridiculous he himself has sounded for the past year.

Bill O"Reilly on occasion shows his independent streak. I don't know if it's because he is being sincere or just an attempt to be objective/no-spin, etc.

He's been very harsh on President Obama, but was conciliatory about Justice Sotomoyer when speaking with Geraldo Rivera. Can't help but wonder if that was more being deferential to a colleague.

Why didn't Bill-O make the same speech about how a poorly educated classless hick like Bush could grow up to be President? He made the speech because the subtext is "look, if a black can be president, ANYBODY can."

O was on Letterman a while back and he was very conciliatory. He's no dummy and "Don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows."
