Newsok.com: "A tiny insect could delay construction of the controversial Keystone XL pipeline by up to a year, the Omaha World-Herald reported Wednesday.

Pipeline company TransCanada Inc. had planned to trap and relocate hundreds of the endangered American burying beetles along Keystone’s proposed path, but new rules by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service prevent the pipeline developer from moving the hiding bugs until the project receives federal approval."

I hope that beetle stays right where it is. It was there first. But when has that ever stopped us?

A beetle is holding up the pipeline and you actually have to ask?!?
Don't get me wrong, some regulation is good, but, much of it is just plain ludicrous.

Not in this case, the oil company has already said that the oil is for export, and will raise prices of gasoline in the midwest. The pipeline is just a favor to Canada and the oil companies.

You liberals/progressives are always screaming about the need for regulations, put one in that says it has to be used in America or it gets taxed 50% or more. That is a regulation all Americans (Democrats and Republicans) could live with.

While the US was providing security advice training and equipment to Kenya to keep the Genocide by Arab Muslims on Black Muslims & Christians the British have discovered OIL there! The Brits, Chinese and Italians all have signed deals with the Kenya Government to explore and develop the resource! Not US we have a Beetle stuck UP our ASS!!!

Ah OUR Oil Companies buy it from Canada and sell it for a profit. Very simple math!

Don't know? Why has not Golden Boy made that happen? So far he has loaned $950 Million of Tax Payers Money that are now Bankrupt! Solyndra & Abound Solar.

Why has he not ensure more kids are admitted to Med School with 30+ Million more being in the system by 2014?

3500 Jobs are more than Solyndra and Abound Solar are providing as it was ummm temporary! Also there will be permanent jobs added to maintain the pipling and the refine the oil. Pumps will have to be built and heavy equipment used. So in reality it's even more than 3500 temporary jobs.

Huh? We BUY it from them and sell it at a profit! You don't get what buying something and selling it for a P-r-o-f-i-t means?

Exporting more than what you import leads to wealth! Look at Japan and Germany. Japan currently is running a deficit but understandable as they recover for the Tsunami.

Ridiculous the number of things that have to be regulated in order to do something in this country to ensure that we don't kill a beetle, can't we save a few of these things and move along with the pipeline.

At least not for the Keystone pipeline. It won't help the US one bit. The oil companies have already said that the oil carried from Canada is to be exported, and it will raise gasoline prices in the midwest. The pipeline is a favor to the oil companies and Canada, and no more. Also, the jobs it would create are temporary, mediocre jobs.

I don't understand why all you conservatives are in such a hurry to build this pipeline. It is going to create some temporary construction jobs to build a pipeline to the coast of Texas. And why do they want to go there? Because from those refineries, they can load the refined gasoline onto tankers and then it is off to China or India or Mexico. That fuel is not staying in the US. In fact, the only thing staying in the US will be the toxic sludge flowing through the pipeline over some of the most important aquifers in the mid west and of course all the pollution caused by the refineries that are causing cancer all over the coast of Texas. I sure wouldn't want to take Canada's problem and make it ours. Canada doesn't want to refine it in Canada because they figure they don't need the pollution or cancer there. The Keystone pipeline is a bad and dangerous deal for the US.
