Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) was one of several speakers at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth undergraduate commencement that took place this Sunday. Frank was also one of two people that received the Chancellor's Distinguished Service Medal at the event.
However, Congressman Frank made a controversial comment about Hubie Jones, a black recipient of an honorary doctorate, that elicited an audible gasp from the audience.
In reference to the Trayvon Martin case, Frank said "you now got a hoodie you can wear and no one will shoot at you." After the audience reacted, Frank said, "I think you'll feel, I hope, pretty protected by that."
"Finally, I do want to acknowledge a man who has played a major role in diminishing inequality in Massachusetts and other spheres, and that's Hubie Jones," Barney Frank said.
"One of the great men that I've worked with Hubie for many years and I'm particularly pleased that Hubie got an honorary degree today. You know, when you get an honorary degree they give you one of these and Hubie, I think you now got a hoodie you can wear and no one will shoot at you. So, I think you'll feel, I hope, pretty protected by that," Frank said.

#Old news.
Hey it is Barney Frank in his new photo op....
It will be great to see him gone for good.
He and his buddies, Dodd & Kennedy, did a lot of damage during their lengthy careers and it will take a while to fix.
He and his 'husband to be' can both rot in a field for all I care.
I TRIED to warn as many as possible but people just wouldn't listen.
We cannot afford to allow him ONE day past Jan. 20, 2013 and sooner may be necessary.
That was the problem in 2008.
98 million eligible voters were too concerned with what was happening on DWTS and the Price is Right and never made it to the polls.
That's more votes than 0bie or McCain got.
