No woman should have to die at the hands of an illegal, non-medical abortionist like a friend of mine did at the tender age of 21 before "Rowe vs. Wade." That is wrong. She was missing for months, only to be found eventually, after a botched abortion, thrown away like a piece of garbage, killed by a butcher abortionist.

We are obviously ready for it...it's here. I don't think that we are ready for partial birth abortions, and I hope that we never are. It is an awful practice. Obama clearly does not feel the same way and that is not only scary, but sad.

The idea the "pro-choice=pro-abortion" is soooo wrong! I am pro-choice but for me, anti-abortion. It isn't up to me who is allowed and when to have children. If that were the case we'd start sterilizing people after X number of children or men after a certain age, so that they will be around to raise their children.

Hands off one body = hands off both sexes bodies.

As for teaching about birth control? We need a lot more discussion of how to avoid abortions than "correcting a mistake" afterwards."

Abortion is such a personal question? I am not for Abortion but I do think that women should have the right to choose. I don't like the idea that goverment can tell you that you can't or can have one it is your body. Also I didn't know that birthcontroll was an issue... Thank god for Birthcontroll. I have two wonderful kids and they keep me very busy. But I can't give birth again my body can't do it again.

People should learn to accept it but I doubt everyone is ready for it.

I'm ready for it and I think enough people are for it to be okay.

Ready for it? I thought that was already the way things were.
No one should ever have the right to tell someone else how to handle birth control or abortion. It should always be left up to the individual to decide what is best for them and their situation.
The Government does not need to concern itself with such matters. They should just run the country and stay out of our personal lives.

Funny thing tho about Obama.. at a meeting recently talking about abortion.. he related that if his girls "got into trouble' when they are older that he wouldn't want them "PUNISHED" with a baby.. I cannot believe the ridiculousness of that statement.. did he and his wife never hear of teaching children the responsibility that goes with having sex?? maybe they dont know??? I find it beyond believability that he made that ignorant statement..
I am basically against abortion in general but do believe that it should be an option for incest, rape and serious health issues.. other wise I am a great believer in taking responsibility for our actions and that would mean using birth control ..responsibly.

Well you know that Obama has also voted against laws that would protect babies from a partial birth abortion, where the baby is to term, or close, and could actually live outside the womb and they are still "aborted"...sounds like murder to me.

We already have abortion and birth control so we are clearly ready for that. Are we ready for a president that believes in late term and post birth abortions? Hell no. I would hope that we would NEVER be ready for someone as disgusting as that. Abortion of any kind should NEVER be used as birth control. Unfortunately there are some people that don't see it this way... Get the pill, get an IUD, buy a damn condom!

Well, I for one can agree with him. Birth control is a better method than abortion, the only reason why I clicked No is because who knows how far he'll take it and I dont know if "We" are ready for it, I think its fairly decent if it isnt taken out of control.

He stated his views on the subject, I give him credit for it, this is a very personal decision that should have never been politicized! Each individual and family must decide for themselves what is best for them, not the government!

but he has voted repeatedly against the partial birth abortion bill.. it is inhumane and needs to be prevented from happening.. it is aborting a fetus at 5 - 6 months of the pregnancy..we are talking viable babies here.. this is very disgusting..how could anyone vote against a bill to prevent that from happening.??

I find the question funny, since we have been "ready" for this for half a century. Regardless of who wins the election it is essential that a woman's right to control her own body be maintained at all costs.

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry I was a bit dim when I first read your statement. I'm supporting Hillary with donations, too (small though they may be), and wish I could do more with the volunteer efforts. I do try to convince others to vote for her because I believe in what she can do and has already done for our country. My bumper sticker is proudly displayed.

can you tell me why you are supporting Obama now after telling me you were voting for McCain?? How could a person who claims to be a Jew support an anti-semite..?? a hate monger who believes in Cones black liberation theology?? strange.. maybe you can enlighten me. I mean ..that is besides being a liar, deceiver, pretender..a demagouge, an arrogant elitist who is an opportunist and has proven he cannot unite.. he is a divisive person..the he cannot possibly govern..he showed in the debate that he has no comprehension of the economy, how the stock market works, capital gains tax, and many other things..he has no integrity for not standing against racism and hate, because of his gang of criminals, terrorists, hate mongers, bigots, racists, marxists, Islamic extremists, communists, that he calls friends and acquaintences and most of whom hate America, shows very poor judgement, because of so many lies and attempts to cover up he has little credibility left.. hmm... and I thought you were intelligent..you fooled me anyway..but then Obaminites all have their heads in dark places so I guess it's hard to see reality that way.

I beg to differ with you.. if it downloads.. and it is very gruesome.. I have attached details.. this is what Obama will not stop.. why???

Here is a letter to explain why you are saying this.. that there is no medical procedure known as partial birth abortion is ridiculous..why would there be bills to end this inhumane action.. the description of a partial birth abortion follows this letter. I neglected to post the pictures as it is too gross..

Partial Birth Abortion - Letter to the Editor
The Journal has informed its readers that partial birth abortion is a "rare" procedure, "typically performed when the life of the mother is at risk, or the fetus is determined to have severe abnormalities" ("Drive to Ban Abortion Procedure Slows," April 27.) But those claims, fabricated by pro-abortion advocacy groups in 1995, had been thoroughly discredited by early 1997.

The Journal said that "critics . . . contend the procedure sometimes is used in less dire circumstances." Actually, it was abortionists and their paid spokespersons who admitted that partial birth abortion is routinely used for purely elective abortions, usually in the fifth and sixth months of pregnancy. For example, Ron Fitzsimmons, executive director of the National Coalition of Abortion Providers, told The New York Time...""

The Journal said that "critics . . . contend the procedure sometimes is used in less dire circumstances." Actually, it was abortionists and their paid spokespersons who admitted that partial birth abortion is routinely used for purely elective abortions, usually in the fifth and sixth months of pregnancy. For example, Ron Fitzsimmons, executive director of the National Coalition of Abortion Providers, told The New York Times that "in the vast majority of cases, the procedure is performed on a healthy mother with a healthy fetus" (Feb. 26, 1997).

Mr. Fitzsimmons elsewhere estimated that 4,000-5,000 abortions annually are performed by the partial birth method. He expressed regret for his own role in previously propagating what he called a "party line," stating, "I lied through my teeth." The claim that partialbirth abortions are used only or mostly in unusual medical circumstances was also disproved by reporters for the Hackensack (N.J.) Record and the Washington Post, among others. These reporters interviewed numerous abortionists, who readily acknowledged that they routinely use the method for purely elective abortions.

In January 1997, the PBS media criticism program "Media Matters" treated as a case study in bad reporting the news media's earlier, uncritical dissemination of the abortion lobby's lies about partial birth abortion.

For a respected national newspaper to resurrect such blatant misinformation four years later may demonstrate how attached some journalists are to comforting myths about abortion.

Partial Birth Abortion - Don’t Fall Into Complacency
Partial Birth Abortion is utterly grotesque. If you don’t know how the procedure works, or when it’s happening, then find out. For us to sit back and allow partial birth abortion to slip into mainstream acceptance – to say this is a political issue, not a moral/ethical/religious issue is ridiculous and sad. Educate yourself – then speak up!

Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps.

The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.

The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.

The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.

The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.
