Barack Obama or John McCain: Who do you trust more with our economy?

Neither are trustworthy with our economy.

With the collapse of Lehman Brothers bank, stocks dropping, and the possibility that AIG will fall too, the economy is headed for deep disaster. Before President George W. Bush took office, Bill Clinton left us with a national surplus, bringing in more money than we owed. Now we are at the opposite extreme with our current national debt over $9 trillion dollars.

So who is more capable and trustworthy when it comes to handling our economy: The Democrats, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, or the Republicans, John McCain and Sarah Palin? For more information on the candidates, check out Barack Obama's Biograpghy and John McCain's Biography.

    Bar Stool Economics

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

§ The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
§ The fifth would pay $1.
§ The sixth would pay $3.
§ The seventh would pay $7.
§ The eighth would pay $12.
§ The ninth would pay $18.
§ The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.' Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

    And so:

§ The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
§ The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
§ The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
§ The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
§ The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
§ The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10!' 'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!' 'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!' 'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!' The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

Looking back it seems I was right, Obama is really bad for the economy. It also turns out he is bad for foreign affairs and everything else. There are no Obama high points. Bin Laden was taken care of by our Seals. Obama just said go, that is however, better than saying stand down like in Benghazi.

Without a doubt I trust Senator Obama because he will surround himself with the right people to help him in his decision making. McCain already admitted to the fact that he does not understand economics. Therefore, how can he make sound decisions on who to surround himself with. Obama already said he will work with Warren Buffet and has the backing of the CEO of Google. He also said he will surround himself with both Republicans and Democrats to fix this issue.

Let's look at McCains past regarding the economy. John McCain is friends with Charles Keating. Keating took McCains family on lavish trips, that even included the babysitter to watch his kids. Keating caused American tax payers billions of dollars in the Savings and Loans crisis. John McCain knew what was going on but chose to look the other way.
So why in the world would I vote for McCain now, in this current banking crisis period, when he was apart of the last banking crisis? Yea, yea, yea he was exonerated, but so was O.J in 1995 and he was guilty.
crisis period banking crisis yea yea yea exonerated 1995 guilty

McCain, with his melanoma, and vicious temper, with Palin's ruthlessness and ignorance scare me to death. Obama and Biden have the experience and intelligence to lead our country out of the messes Bush and Cheney are leaving behind. Obama has the best people, the best experts on all of the policy issues we have to face working for him. What with General Colin Powell, the victorious leader of Gulf War I, now backing Obama, along with any number of former Republicans, can there be any doubt that Obama is the right person at the right time to lead this country? We are in deep trouble on just about every front thanks to Bush. It is going to take leadership, much careful work, and the cooperation of all of us to get us out of this mess. McCain and Palin don't have a clue about what is going to be needed. I do trust Obama with our future.

    Google this:

    democratic plan 401K

Obama and Pelosi want to take your 401K and put it in the Federal government's hands. HELLO? Is anyone listening out there? Do you know that your hard-earned retirement investment will be taken away from you? Do you know that you will be required to make a mandatory 5% investment of your wages to the Federal government? Do you know that when you die, the government will keep 50% of your money? Please, please wake up. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, we have all worked hard to make this country a success. All of us have sacrificed and will continue to sacrifice. But isn't this taking things a little too far? What will you live on when you retire? Welfare checks because your (and it is yours) retirement money has been taken away from you by the Obama-Pelosi bill? HELLO? Anyone out there listening?

    Look here.

A lot of people still don't know who Obama really is, or what he wants to do — and so are still not altogether sure that Obama is the proper antidote to George Bush. After more than a year of campaigning, Obama still remains an enigma.

    Who are Obama's friends?

Obama promised to be the post-racial candidate who would bring us together. But when asked in March 2004 whether he attended regularly the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ, Obama boasted: "Yep. Every week. Eleven o'clock service."

    Mr. Obama . . . STOP LYING.

Clinton did nothing to help the economy--his was just one of the boats that floated when the whole economy benefited, for a while, from the tech bubble. Our economic problems go at least back to the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 (Carter) which forced banks to make housing loans to people who didn't qualify. This was stepped up under the Clinton Administration when Janet Reno's Justice Department threatened banks who weren't making enough housing loans to people who didn't qualify. Barney Frank (D) in the House and Chris Dodd (D) in the Senate made sure in recent years that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae whistle blowers, including McCain, were silenced, while Obama continued to have his palms greased by Fannie and Freddie. In the meantime, the Republicans were racking up record levels of expenditures, behaving like Democrats. The moral of this story is that NEITHER party is capable enough and trustworthy enough to handle our economy. Both should BUTT OUT of our economy and let the free market work (again, if banks had not been forced to make bad loans, we wouldn't be here). While I am pretty disappointed in McCain's support of massive bailouts, I would much rather stake our future as a free country on him because Obama is absolutely convinced that government is the solutio...""""'''''

Wealth redistribution didn't work then and it won't work now, but we may be doomed to repeat it because the Obama-lovers either don't know better, don't want to believe it, or can't wait for it to happen.

Obama-Biden represent Socialism which takes a person's property and distributes to others without their having to anything except vote for them This system has given us Russia, Cuba, Venezuela. Are these countries great? Would you live there?

McCain is promising to give plenty of handouts - to the rich who don't need to be any richer. With the uber-rich holding all the wealth in their tight fists, you are never going to have a ghost of a chance for prosperity for all. Obama is going to have the rich pay what they were supposed to be paying in the 90s. We were hardly a Socialist country then, though we already have socialist elements like most every other Western European country. Read some history. Read some statistics.

With the radical way to go after the small business, now staffing agencies are getting calls. If althose small business need to say alfoat they are taking measures to do so.
And its not just the tax, it capitol taxes, union vote in small business without say, and others I am sure all the obama fans know about.

If you vote obama many small business will or MUST cut back expensess, that means good bye the number of years you worked thier, all the relation ship you have with your company. Just like dem's tax our companies out of the US. Now they blindly vote for Obama to out TAX them into staffing jobs, next you will see overseas people come here on visas to do it less then Americans.

That kind of made me mad about a coin print, and other dumb things got stuck in that bill as ear marks, of whoich had nothing to do with the houseing crisis.

    GODZILLA versus KONG ! ! !

The candidate is but the face of a very large and powerful beast. Whether Democrat or Republican. The Republican beast has had a Grand Old time the last decade or so getting its teeth all over regulations, antitrust and bankruptcy laws. It was ravenously hungry and chowed down like a starving wolf. And now "starving" is seeming too much like the operative word. Wall Street greed has devoured our economy's seed corn. Starvation is looming.

Give the Democratic beast a chance, then. It seems to actually care about future seasons, not just the here and now, the quick easy (& supported by illusory mortgage-backed securities) buck. It doesn't just care about Wall Street - don't be fooled, though, as it DOES care about the home of plenty of Democratic financial support - it also cares about YOUR street. And whether there's enough money in the budget to keep that street clear of snow this winter.

The Democratic beast might prove a troublesome animal. It might insist on offbeat veggie-style meals from time to time. It might flail away against global warming when it's too late to do much about global warming. It might occasionally mistake small, cute and furry animals as being more important than fellow human beings. In fact, it's guaranteed to screw up and make ...

But nothing it can do can match the catastrophe of the Republican Beast, tearing into homes, jobs and savings like an insane Godzilla.

    So bring on King Kong!

THERE IS NO QUESTION ABOUT IT, WARREN BUFFET, PAUL VOCHER, COLIN POWELL, WHEN A MAN SURROUNDS HIMSELF WITH MEN LIKE THESE, HE'S LISTENING TO THE BEST. McCAIN HAS THE SAME PEOPLE THAT BUSH HAS, WHERE DID THAT LEAD US. REMEMBER THE TRICLE DOWN THEORY, WELL IT TRICKLED, BUT NOT DOWN, ONLY UP. ALL WE GOT WAS NOTHING. MAYBE WE HAVE SEEN THE LAST OF VOO DOO ECONOMICS. THE RICH GOT RICHER, THEY ABUSED THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM IN THIS COUNTRY, JUST LIKE EVERY REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATION SINCE NIXON. WHEN THE POOR AND MIDDLE CLASS LIVE IN THE SAME ECONOMICS, SOMETHING IS WRONG. FOR THE ONLY PEOPLE TO HELP THE POOR ARE THE MIDDLE CLASS. NOW THEY ARE JUST AS POOR. REPUBLICANS HAVE WIPED OUT THIER HOMES, JOB SECURITYS, PENIONS, AND DISPLACED IT WITH FEAR. ONE THING THE RIGHT WING HAVE DONE WELL, IS TO DECIEVE MILLIONS OF HARD WORKING AMERICANS OUT OF FEAR!

How can you possibly say that no one at the bottom got a thing? Do you see how people are living today versus 10 years ago? You have got to be kidding me with that statement.
We have NUMEROUS social and public programs that all taxpayers fund for those who are less fortunate. Those are the programs that should be shut down.
The gov't is going to run all of our great companies (yes, read: enterprises) out of the country and into other countries that require less taxes and less regulations. This is not good. We need those companies and corporations. And if you don't like it, boycott their products/services.

Warren Buffet can afford to "spread the wealth around."

    I cannot.

    Down with Socialism.

Clinton did a very good job. Bush did a disastrous one. Barack has a way better Team. He has Biden. McCain's doesn't consult, his people did not accept the problem until way too late. And he shows he can't rely on Miss Wasilla... Your choice.

Clinton's unemployment rate was higher than Bush's. Tell me how that is better. Basically everyone had a job during the Bush years. Biden sucks at life and lies about everything--including a "drunk" driver killing his wife and kid.

Everybody enjoyed a bubble now burst, fueled by wild deregulation and wrong non decisions. I don't know if Biden lied about his wife -who cares-, but Bush lied to you on Iraq (WMDs?). An expensive war nobody needed and terribly planned and mismanaged. Killer Osama is still free. An enormous deficit and a dangerous recession-crisis. Nice. Want more?
