Just another example of Obama being the true conservative. A true conservative is suppose to be for limited government. A true conservative is suppose to be for the individual. How can you be for the individual when the government tells him(or her) who they can marry or not? Resistance to gays marrying is nothing more that big government running its citizen's lives. Disgusting.

Yes, Obama did the right thing. Most people in the U.S. are okay with gay marriage. They may not fully understand it but I think they know that it's the right thing to do. I don't think this will hurt Obama in the least come election day.
Boy, I sure hope he wins or we are all screwed big time.

I'm happy he did it however, I view it as an overdue equal rights issue and nothing to do with gender choice but "gay" seemed to be used as the wedge by some people because of their personal or religious conviction which over-shadowed the injustice. I was always frustrated by the vile debates and comments which fed into it and was off point.

Yes....and it would have to be sooner or later. Face it....what two consenting adults want is up to them as long as it isnt hurting anyone else. If my next door neighbor and his BF want to get married...how does that hurt me? It doesnt.

LOL!!! Obama fooled you LIBS again. He said "it's a State's Rights issue"; that's the conservative position. Obama is using conservatism to hide behind his true beliefs.

hear no evil see no evil

LOL, No The conservative view is to make it a Constitutional Law BANNING gay marriage. Thats not States making up their own views and laws thats a Federal Ban. Nice try.

The conservative view is the Federal Government has no say at all; yes or no. There is a Federal ruling that marriage is between a man and a woman; that's not the Federal government's business. It should be left to each State to handle, put up for vote, and let the people rule on something that monumental. As a general rule every time the issue is put up for a vote, it is defeatedly handily. In that case, like Obamacare, stuff should not be forced on people that don't want it. Some of the liberal/progressive States just may vote for it; then so be it but it is not the Feds business.

"The conservative view is the Federal Government has no say at all; yes or no".....NO! They want to make it a Constitutional Law that marriage is between one man and one woman. Thats not leaving it up to the States to decide for themselves now is it?

You have never heard the conservatives say that; there is already the Defense of Marriage Act and if I am not mistaken a Democrat Congress enacted that; Obama has demanded Eric Holder defend that act. "the heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism"; Reagan best put it; he was a libertarian believing the less government the better. Stop and think, what business does the government have in gay affairs? The Fed. does not dictate straight issues; marriage requirements/conditions differ from State to State; why should gays get special consideration just because they do sex differently? How trivial can our government get?

LOL, you don't know your party that well do you. Obama is not defending the act. It would take you two second to google it and you will see that they went to court and told the judge that they are not going to defend the act because they feel it is unconstitutional. Where have you been? Thats why Boehner and the house republicans hired a private attorney to defend it in court AND THEY LOST. If your going to debate a issue at least learn something about the subject. And by the way Reagan was not a Libertarian, he was a Conservitive. And as for, who said they wanted to make it a Constitution Amendment to ban Gay Marriage Romney your sides choice to President is for it and said if it was ever passed by Congress and he was President HE WOULD SIGN IT. You Fail. NEXT.
