Gallup: Obama Poll BOUNCE Since Fake Scandals
by joelgp
"It's so much fun watching these three fake scandals falling apart by the hour. The goal was to damage Obama and wound Hillary so severely that she either doesn't run or damage her mammoth appeal.
Well, BACKFIRING is the word of the day for both of those efforts: Bengha-Zzzz: Hillary Clinton’s Approval Rating Ticked Up A Point During Benghazi Hearings Today’s poll also showed Secretary Clinton maintaining her huge lead among the 2016 Democratic field, and widening her general election lead against GOP favorites Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), and leading Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) by 47% to 44%, one percent tighter than in the last poll.
Despite the fact that Republican groups have been running Benghazi attack ads against Hillary, she continues to dominate the 2016 field".
The New York Times called it "mean-spirited," "aggressive," and "intolerant."
They're referring to the Republican Party platform. And surprise, surprise: The Los Angeles Times reported that it was "written at the direction of Romney's campaign."
On national television this week, we'll be hearing a different story, as the Republicans try to convince voters that the Romney-Ryan ticket is on the side of the middle class.
Here's just a snapshot of what Mitt Romney's platform calls for:
-- Turn Medicare into a voucher program to buy private insurance, forcing seniors to pay more out of pocket for their health care costs.
-- Outlaw all abortions without exception for rape or incest (including a "salute" to states like Virginia that have passed extreme ultrasound laws).
-- Ban marriage equality and reject civil unions of all kinds.
-- Won't protect the mortgage interest deduction for middle-class families if Romney enacts his tax plan, even though it helps more than 30 million middle-class families.
-- Kill investments in clean energy jobs and reject the wind production tax credit, which would cost up to 37,000 American jobs.
"Intolerant" and "mean-spirited" sounds about right to me.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are in lockstep with this platform, but pay close attention to what they're saying up on that stage this week -- I guarantee you won't hear a whole lot about any of that.
Instead, they're filling their free airtime with false promises and baseless attacks on President Obama.
Mitt Romney began his stump speech in Michigan on Friday with a joke which raised a sensitive issue: birth certificates.
"I love being home in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born," he said. "Ann was born at Henry Ford hospital, I was born at Harper hospital. No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised."
The Obama campaign seized on the remark to argue that Romney was embracing “strident” conservatives, including real estate mogul Donald Trump and Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, two of the most hard-line opponents to illegal immigration.
“Throughout this campaign, Governor Romney has embraced the most strident voices in his party instead of standing up to them,” Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt said in a statement.
He added, “Governor Romney’s decision to directly enlist himself in the birther movement should give pause to any rational voter across America.”
