Considering their idea of hate crime is bombing people, I don't really see someone putting bacon on their place of worship to be a hate crime. I do however have very conflicting feelings about it. One part of me realizes it was wrong to purposely vandalize their mosque. Another part of me finds it hilarious. Then there is the part of me that wishes they would have given me the bacon and not wasted it.

Anybody over over grade 3 knows that the islamic religion doesn't eat bacon and I doubt it was someone under grade 3 that put it there either. People who do stuff like this are ignorant.

I'm of the opinion that if they can fly airplanes into our buildings, set bombs to kill our soldiers and advocate the destruction of Israel, then a slice of bacon on a mosque is a pretty small thing.

Isn't it funny (ironic, of course, not humorous) how THAT never seems to get mentioned in any of the "tolerance" speeches. You know; as in "We Americans should learn to tolerate (subject here), because their 'custom' is to...."

I realize that we cannot stop such animalistic "religious" practices throughtout the world (much as we cannot FEED, CLOTHE, HOUSE, or PROVIDE JOBS FOR the whole damned world!), but, I can't really believe that our government, "our" God--or anybody else's, feels that we should be "tolerant" of child abuse, simple cruelty, pedophilia, or "honor"-killings. We have a society in this country which protects the members of that society which we deem incapable of protecting themselves. Seem like a pretty good "plan" to me.

If you, your group, or your "religion" want to come to OUR country, don't push the "tolerance" thing too far, okay? The bacon "incident" was either a "prank" or somebody telling you to be a bit more careful who you're looking at down the bridge of your nose.

Then there's always the problem that you might run into some crotchety old fart like myself. Run your "But this is the custom of MY people!" koan at me and end up with a SLAB of bacon stuck up your ass! And how it the hell you gonna explain THAT to Allah???

Thanks, In vino. The "tradition" of that "religion" doing the female mutilation thing had slipped my mind for a few years. There's a psychological term for it (I can't remember); refers to knowledge or acts that are SO disgusting your mind "conceals" them from you!

I would have a REALLY hard time defining what is basically malicious mischief as a HATE CRIME. I've had to paint over "Brown POWER!" and various Hispanic grafitti on my fence a couple of times. Piss me off? You Betcha! Is it at the level of a HATE CRIME? Come on: DUH!

Know what? Some people REALLYy don't "like" people who perpetually look down their noses at them! Whether it's Muslims who feel your daughter's an infidel whore because she doesn't walk around like a damned bee-keeper-in-mourning or a gang-banger who's pissed-off because you won't hire him unless he learns Ingles.

Try this out "visitors": Wash the bacon off your mosque, wrap your OWN daughter in DUCT TAPE if you want to but shut your damned mouth about MINE, LEARN English, start PICKING UP and recycling aluminum cans, OR go back south of the border (I don't CARE which!); and quit looking down your damned nose at me or anybody else that was IN THIS COUNTRY WHEN YOU DRUG YOUR ASS UP/OVER HERE! Check this out, AS****E! You came to MY country, I damned sure didn't go to YOURS!

Since who ever made the words with bacon strips didnt force it down any muslium..and since the pork wasnt alive and roaming thru the mosque....i would call it a protest done in bad taste ;)
Who knows maybe next time who ever is doing this protest will get a little more creative.

For those who think this is a hate crime..u do a grave injustice to all those who were harmed in some cases killed because of hatred...ya know the real hate crime is done by those islamic extreamests.

It is neither a prank, nor a hate crime - if anything, the article drew the line right here: A "Seattle artist who proposed – then withdrew – a call for a "Everybody Draw Mohammad Day" in protest of a censored "South Park" episode, recently left her job, moved, and changed her name on the FBI's advice after radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki issued a fatwa for her death, the New York Post reported last month. Islam forbids the depicting of the Prophet Mohammed."
When the suggestion of "Everybody draw Mohammad Day" is considered to be enough for a cleric to call a fatwa for the death of the person making this suggestion something is clearly evil, wrong, and hideously sinister concerning this cult of hate.
I would go so far as to suggest that anyone and everyone who has access to a mosque should do the same thing! And if you care to call that hate, fine! I say get rid of the lot of them and send them back permanently to the Middle East and let them have it out amongst themselves since they love killing people so much.

I don't know how the law defines a hate crime but I don't think this was meant as a good natured jest. This was done out of hate perhaps the people that did it thought it was funny but I don't think it counts as a prank.

It isn't even as bad as egging a house or TP-ing a house - eggs do damage and have you ever tried to get TP out of the trees??? Not his was very mild in comparison. The biggest problem is the Muslims are afraid of pigs for some goofy reason!
