A 7-month-old baby has died after Sugar Land police say the child was left in a hot pickup truck for several hours.

    This is another heart breaker but it happens every year. People have suggested leaving the baby's diaper bag or toy on the front seat as a reminder that baby is still in there. There is also a buzzer that goes on after the ignition is killed, also intended to be a reminder. I cannot imagine the pain that father is experiencing.

    Horrible. However nothing new. This happens hundreds of times a year. Awareness needs to be raised - you do not leave young kids alone in the car, in any weather!

    I have heard of this happening too often and it is a true tragedy. I have read articles that suggest the parent puts something they have to have at work in the backseat with the child (a purse, brief case, or laptop) to be sure that they remember the child is back there.

    I am sure they parents, especially the father, are devastated over the loss of their child.

    I've heard of that happening. I can't imagine the pain they are experiencing. I live in a hot climate. It has happened to grandparents too.
