A New York author was sentenced to 10 days of community service on Tuesday for running onto the Yankee Stadium field during a National League Championship Series game, with handwritten notes about how he wanted to hurt third baseman Alex Rodriguez.

Turns out it was all a publicity stunt for his book, The New York Post reports.

“I wanted to do something stupid,” said Grim LeRogue, 33, adding that he hoped to draw attention to his tome “The Illuminati Code Cracked.”

The judge who sentenced him reportedly said, "I always wondered what kind of idiot did that."

LeRogue was subjected to a nine-day psych evaluation, and came out squeaky clean.

The irony in my answer is that I actually think, while the stunt was stupid, it was also slightly genius. The man runs out onto the field for the sole purpose of getting publicity. And that's exactly what he got!

the question is" is it funny or stupid (or both) that SodaHead News have the Yankees playing in the 2010 NLCS (seeing as how they have been in the American League since 1903)"???

Any writer who has to do something like this as a publicity stunt for his new book must not be a very good author. I mean, I can't see, say John Grisham or Danielle Steele, doing such a thing. Also, wouldn't charging Yankee Stadium carrying handwritten notes saying that he wanted to hurt Alex Rodriguez be considered terroristic threatening? This dude's name is Grim LeRogue. That HAS to be a fictitious pen name. His new book is entitled "The Illuminati Code Cracked." Well, SOMETHING'S cracked, but it ain't the book. I can't believe this fool passed a nine-day psych evaluation with flying colors. Oh well, it's New York...

If this nut job really wanted to hurt Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, he should take a number and get in line. A-Rod is an A-Hole.
