Attacks on Mitt Romney red herrings?

Protection from what? The people who are responsible for in-camera review of non-released documents -- non-partisan group -- have already come out and said there is nothing illegal or damning in Romney's past tax returns. And, believe you me, if the IRS had knowledge of a single thing that could indict Romney for something nasty, you better believe they would have leaked that information a long time ago.

Precisely what are you afraid of with Mitt Romney? He is the poster boy for the All American Dream, for heaven's sake. He's a guy who made good. And he made really, really, really good. And the LSM and the liberals and other socialist freaks are attempting to paint ugly pictures and make the man become ashamed of what he has accomplished. That is what he is trying to avoid. He has nothing, absolutely nothing to apologize for. He's filthy rich. Big damn deal. He earned it.

Now let me paint you a scenario, you and the other Obama brainwashed, of post-publication of a gazillion years of Romney tax returns. "Oh, wow, look at the amount of money he's got tucked in this bank and that fund and whatever. All this man's interested in is making money for himself, doesn't care a whit about us working poor folks," blah, blah, blah.

First and foremost, did you bother to read the original posting in full, or are you just poking at the embers to see if you can get a fire going? If Mitt Romney is such a greedy bugger, cares nothing about ordinary folks, why would he turn over all of his inheritance from his father to charity? Doesn't sound like much of a greedy gesture to me.

Another tricky tactic used by the Obama campaign strategists is the good old class envy card. That's almost as effective as the proverbial race card, by golly. And it goes like this. "Wow, look at the seemingly small amount of tax dollars Romney paid in this year when he's got so much money in total. He's not paying his fair share."

IRS Lesson 101. You pay income taxes on earned income. Then you pay a different tax on your dividends, profits, interest earnings. That amounts to payment of earnings from earned income monies for which taxes have already been paid. Period.

But this rule does not apply only to Mitt Romney, for Pete's sake, it applies to each and every one of us, including Barack Obama for that matter. The American Tax Code has needed change for a long, long time. The fact that we Americans haven't insisted that it be done prior to today is our fault. Mitt Romney -- and everybody else, of course -- should not be penalized or demonized because he follows the law.

Let's get off the hate wagon for a while and spend our time trying to fix the ills of this country before it's too late. FYI, Mitt Romney was not my first choice in the GOP race. However, from what I have been reading about him and hearing in his speeches and whatnot, I am not upset at his candidacy. In fact he comes off looking pretty squeaky clean to me. And I believe he has the requisite knowledge and experience to tackle the horrendous economic debacle this country currently finds itself in, and that is of utmost importance to us all at this particular moment. Time enough for fine-tuning your likes and dislikes and constitutional questions to be resolved, etc., after our economy gets put back on track. And Obama is positively not the person to do that job.

You insist on talking about transparency and hiding things? I want to see Obama's college transcripts, all of them. I want to know on what basis the man thinks he knows all there is about environmental sciences that qualifies him to unilaterally decide to bankrupt the coal industry, for example, and push untried, non-viable Green projects down our throats only to find out the technology isn't ready yet for such massive usage. How about that information, think that might be helpful to know? Where's the outcry on Obama's legal machinations concerning his personal information?

I think you are barking up the wrong tree, sir. Your energies will be better spent tracking down what's been going on in the White House behind closed doors for quite some time now. I'll take Mitt Romney over Big Government socialism Obama-style any day. I think you're being erroneously swayed by the glib Obama team. Be careful.

Well, hell, guess I've got to look that up too. I can't speak with specificity to everything the man's done in his lifetime, for Pete's sake, I didn't even know who he was before he ran for office back whenever it was.

But I can say that Bain Capital (and Romney) took companies that were going down the tubes, period. In fact, Bain Capital sunk some megabucks into some of those companies to keep them afloat. And instead of losing 100% of the jobs, they lost only a smaller percentage of jobs. And I'm sure some outsourcing was probably involved. But the OVERALL, ultimate effect was the saving of a lot of companies to the point where they were profitable enough to rehire workers who lost their jobs and then hire new workers because of the expansion(s) of the company. Good lord, man, read the titles of some of the companies Romney had a hand in. Staples? Heard of that one?

Successful business sometimes has heartbreaking moments. People lose jobs because business has tanked. But nobody, Romney or anybody else, likes it and the ultimate goal is reversal of back circumstances and rejuvenation of the company. Romney knows how to do these things. He's got the experience.

Would you prefer that Obama continue his reign -- of terror -- on our economy? Hello? Take a gander at what he's done with taxpayer monies. The man ought to go to jail for stealing our hard-earned dollars, basically. Talk about being true blue to the American worker? I trust Romney; Obama, on the other hand, is treacherous and doesn't give a damn about any workers, period. Just their votes.
