Obama administration for Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said at a White House press briefing that he prays for rain to end the drought. Vilsack said, “I get on my knees every day. And I’m saying an extra prayer now. If I had a rain prayer or a rain dance I could do, I would do it.”
Tom Flynn, the executive director of the Council for Secular Humanism, accused Vilsack of crossing the as a government official. Flynn accused Vilsack of violating the Constitution. “...praying for rain? That’s not just government entangling itself with religion, that’s government publicly practicing it, and wallowing in superstition.”
Flynn said Vilsack "sends the wrong message to distraught farmers when the Agriculture Secretary suggests that the best response is to pray. For a Cabinet official to recommend prayer as a solution or call attention to his own devotions may violate the Constitution’s prohibition against establishment of religion. Most important, though, is that prayer doesn’t work. But if you want to test the power of prayer yourself, consider this. Apparently Secretary Vilsack’s been praying for rain every day; how’s that working out?”

Strange how atheist want their "non-faith" to be enforced as the "government religion!"
By the way Fef.... I wonder what the President would say about you putting this on his "Administration" rather than one man who stands out on his own to say something about his personal relationship with God? :)
Up yours JERK! I try to have a civil debate with you and you attack someone you don't even know! Piss on you.... socialist obama lover!
Flynn needs to learn to build bridges instead of constantly burning them.
Atheism = no belief in a God. Nothing more. The rest are merely thing religious apologist must assume. Strangely, it is usually a religious person that claims everything was poofed here by magic. Not scientists, not atheists.
Thank you, at any rate.
Why does it bother atheists so damn much? I think it's the same with the idiots at the gay pride parades that act out, not caring who sees them acting like idiots. Kids, old folks, doesn't matter. Same with these evangelical atheists.
And PETA.
Ugh.
For IF a CONSERVATIVE is a atheists, he doesn't go to church.
But a LIBERAL non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
It's NOT that it bothers "gays," but LIBERALS who are "gay!"
For IF a CONSERVATIVE is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
But if it is a LIBERAL homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
It's doesn't bother all non-animal eating people!
If a CONSERVATIVE is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a LIBERAL is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
That's JUST THE WAY THEY ARE!!!! :) OS
I believe Fef was referring to the 'screaming' variety.
Here on soda, it seems the vast majority (the truly strident ones and screamers) feel it is their cosmic duty to 'educate' those dumb Christians. Not the dumb Jews, or Muslims, or Pagans but the dumb Christians.
I did qualify my statement with 'evangelical atheists'. :P
If you ever catch me preaching Atheism ,please elbow me HARD.;)
Good talking with you.
