At what age do guys mature? Not until they're 43, one study found! What do you think?

Kyle 2013/06/11 12:51:59

The video games, the practical jokes, the cartoon pajamas in some cases … it may seem like men never grow up.

It turns out, men don’t mature until they’re 43.

That’s according to a Nickelodeon UK study as reported by myfoxphilly.com.

In your opinion, when do guys mature?

I'm 22, and I've been told I'm mature beyond my years. But I have been through more than a lot of people have, so that could be why.

It depends on the person. To be honest, there's a BOY I met who is 10 years older than myself and is quite immature. The MAN I am dating now is only 2 years older than me and is one of the most mature PEOPLE I've ever MET.

I turned 43 this very month, and I'm doing everything in my power to prove that study WRONG.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to slip into my Southpark PJs, and play Fallout New Vegas.

Idk but studies are stupid. They probably just found a bunch of mature guys then found the 43 year olds then surveyed them. 14

Men and women mature at their own pace depending on life experiences. Sadly, with how chaotic life is nowadays I've been seeing more and more people in their 20's clinging onto a more simpler time when they didn't have so much to worry about and for some that hinder their own self growth; and it's not just men, it's women too.

in my studies, it shows that male frontal lobes don't fully develop until about 21 years old. and then they aren't fully able to use it correctly until mid to late 30's

That's hard to generalize. Each person, man or woman, "matures" at their own rate. If the culture permits such immaturity, it becomes more rampant, and produces studies like this.

Some women never mature either. And a lot of the people here are pretty gullible and egocentric to agree with this study.

Is that word even in their vocabulary? Men never mature as they are forever looking for a teet or apron string to hang off of.

I think you find maturity after raising a child....caring for someone else that is more important than you are...

I guess the bigger question.....how do you define maturity?

It varies. Some actually mature in their 20s, but for others it takes longer. Some are still getting pulled over for drunk driving in their 60s.

People unwind in different ways... Some work on their cars, some drink beer, some watch movies, some play guitar... Everyone has a hobby or some sort of outlet.

Whoever says that playing video games is immature, I do believe still have a ways to go before they grow up. These people lack understanding, a very important trait to being mature.

Except pops, you and I get yelled at for the same behavior we are expected to excuse for this younger generation. I hang around in my panties or less and play on the computer most days. Gotta love retirement. OH! There's the difference, WE WORKED FOR A LIVING AT SOME POINT IN OUR LIVES.
