January 3rd 2007, the day democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress. The Democrat Party controlled a
majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd
Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that
everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this: on January 3rd, 2007, the
day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress, the DOW closed at
12,621.7. The growth in the GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%. The
Unemployment rate was 4.6%.

Remember the day...January 3rd, 2007 as that was the day that Barney Frank
took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over
the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the
economy? The BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES! The unemployment that
resulted from the meltdown was a result of dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of
toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001
because it was financially risky for the US economy, but was rejected each
time. And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie
Mac? BARACK OBAMA! And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?
OBAMA and the Democrat Congress.

So when someone tries to blame Bush.. REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY
THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"

Budgets do not come from the White House. They from Congress and the party
that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them
to compromise on spending, when Bush, somewhat belatedly, got tough on
spending increases.
For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely,
passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama
could take
office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to
complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very
Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the
omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it
was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was
the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit
spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and
that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell,
what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I
voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

So genius, please list the bill the Democrats forced, FORCED I TELL YOU, Bush to pass. They didn't have a veto proof majority so tell us again how the Democrats forced Bush to spend more and on what? Was it Medicare part D that ran up the budget? Why yes it was. But wait, that was passed by the Republicans when they controlled the White house and Congress. What else lead to the GIANT deficit we have, the tax cuts perhaps? Why yes. But wait, it was the Republicans who passed those tax cuts. And they passed it as a budget bill which meant that they could bypass the filibuster. That is also why the bill was only good for 10 years.

Bush set record for 52 straight month of job growth. The problem was it was the WEAKEST job growth in HISTORY. He was producing less jobs per month than President Obama is now. Brag all you want about Bush's weak job growth, it only proves the point that tax cuts do not stimulate the economy.

I'm glad you brought the stupidity of when the Democrats took over congress because that is when the Republicans learned how to abuse the filibusters. That is the year the Republicans started to set records for using the filibuster.

Among other things, Frank's legislation, titled the "Federal Housing Finance Reform Act of 2007," directed the FHFA director to "ensure" that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac "operate[] in a safe and sound manner, including maintenance of adequate capital and internal controls" and to establish standards at those two entities for "management of credit and counterparty risk" and "management of market risk."

The legislation also required the FHFA director to "establish standards by which the portfolio holdings, or rate of growth of the portfolio holdings, of the enterprises will be deemed to be consistent with the mission and the safe and sound operations of the enterprises." As usual, the Democrats wanted to pass a bill and the Republicans wanted to screw it up.

Why didn't Bush and the boys do something about Frannie and Freddie when they had complete control of the government? You don't know know do you? Remember Bush's "Ownership Society?" NO?

I love when you guys bring up January 22nd, 2007. I also love how you forget that the policies of Republicans, Phil Gramm, George Bush, ect. left the economy in a down fall. What did Bush do in his last few months to stop the free fall? NOTHING.

The world didn't fall apart on January 22nd, it simply started to heal. The Republicans started to block everything and the affects of stupid Republican policies started to creep up on the country.

Bush's tax cuts never amounted to the $2 trillion dollars they cost. Bush never paid for the wars by offsetting cost of other things. Bush never paid for Medicare Part D, another $500 billion dollar give away.
