In this week’s “Meet the Press” mid-week “PRESS Pass” conversation, David Gregory sat down with actress and activist Ashley Judd.

She admitted that she has been disappointed by President Obama’s performance “to a certain extent,” but: “Now I’m pretty fired up again… and I think that he is a powerful leader. I think he’s a brilliant man. I think that he has an incredible devotion to our constitution. And that he is now able to flower more as the president I knew he could be. And I was extremely proud of his statement about gay marriage, for example, because he didn’t need to do that. He was just displaying his values and his belief in equality. And that moved me to tears.”

I think if everyone realizes that the money packs have an agenda to keep people in power who will help them; they will not throw their vote away by keeping the Representatives in the House and Senate who have been blocking good legislation. Money can buy many things, but let's hope it can't buy our President or public servants. Our leaders should be elected, not bought by a few.

I'm fired up too. I never thought Ashley Judd was walking through life clueless. The only thing Obama values is the number of votes he can get..thats why he changed his mind on gay marriage.

She has no problem paying bills. She doesn't know what it's like to fight to keep a car running to get back and forth to work for minimum wage. She one of the ones invited to the a parties, where more money is spent in one night, then a family of 4 lives on for a year.

Why is it that a person lucky enough to become a star, is considered and expert on political affairs? Are Americans so shallow that they equate fame and money to intelligence? I hope not. Any statement made by a Hollywood Star, is just plain stupid. What may be more stupid is that other Americans give value to it. She is a joke, along with Obama. Obama is, and always will be, the single greatest mistake in American history.

Either people like Ashly Judd are mistaken about the constitution or the constitution wasn't written clearly enough to have any particular meaning. I thought it was clear but with the meaning of words having changed so much over the last couple of centuries and contemporary laws juggling the definitions of words and creating entirely new contexts, I don't know any more. Even lawyers can't agree on what the damn law says.

Same. I haven't been to a movie theater in almost 3 years... I watch a few things on TV but refuse to spend money on movies anymore. If they're on network or cable I'll watch assuming I'm not already completely disgusted by the celebrity but that's becoming more and more difficult.

And what does "flower as president" mean?

I'm glad you mentioned Gary Sinise - he is a fine American! He's a spokesperson for the Wounded Warrior Project and leader of the Gary Sinise Foundation which builds homes for severely wounded Veterans (both of which I donate $$ to every month).
