Jared Lee Loughner, the Arizona shooter who killed six people and wounded 13 others -- including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords -- pleaded guilty to his charges Tuesday. Loughner won't be executed because of his plea deal, but he will face a life sentence in prison without the opportunity for parole. Do you think the plea deal is fair? Or did you want Jared Loughner to get the death penalty?

Let him rot away like Manson. Meanwhile, there will always remain the dim hope ~ probably futile, but nevertheless real ~ that he will come to regret his terrible actions. And possibly even do some small good in the world before he makes his exit. You never know.
'Many that live deserve death, and some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.'
[Yeah, I know he's not real, a fictional character ~ but he's right.]
What if somebody you loved was killed by him?
Please, please put him in the general prison population. Please, please, please.
This guys picture, twisted smile, and freakish eyes make me want to puke..
In a hand basket because there is absolutely no accountability for one's own actions. There is no punishment for crimes, even "minor" felonies like DUIs, because it's never our fault.
Any one of these nut jobs has to be insane, because sane people don't go shooting up movie theaters, grocery stores and temples if peaceful people. So from that standpoint, yeah, we SHOULD execute the insane. And no, it's not archaic. At least the ass-hat in Milwaukee that shot up the Sikh temple saved us all a truckload of money and time by offing himself.
In case you haven't heard, Simi, it costs more to kill people than to execute them. With your right wing attitude, I suspect that you support Three Strike Laws, too? Just how much do you thimnk to incarcerate thousands of drug addicts, street people, and other non-violent law breakers?
The death penaty has no place in a civilized society. Most sensible and democratic countries have reached that conclusion - Great Britain, Australia, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia (yes, Russia!), Austria, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands..
Countries that still practice this barbaric ritual - China, USA (mostly in Texas), Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria..
C'mon, Simi, do you like the company we keep?
Yes. I think they should.
Typo = California education? You gotta love this state!
25 years for pilfering a Snickers if that's the third strike? Yeah. Yeah you should. You shouldn't be stealing anything, regardless of dollar amount.
And, I'm not talking about incarcerating people for personal weakness. But even if you ARE an alcoholic, or are homeless, that situation isn't a crime. But, just because you're homeless doesn't give you the right to steal, sleep wherever the heck you want, pee wherever the heck you want. Being an alcoholic doesn't give you the right to drive drunk or steal or whatnot. As for addicts? They're already breaking the law by the first pill/injection, etc. incarcerate petty users, dry up the demand, put dealers out of business.
Okay, I now better understand your views - and I respect your rights to them.
