Loughner won't be executed because of his plea deal, but he will face a life sentence in prison without the opportunity for parole. Do you think the plea deal is fair? Or did you want Jared Loughner to get the death penalty?

So, in retrospect to the question: Just kill the bastard. We'll all be better off serving him the same sentence he served 6 , innocent others.
As they say in ENG....Off with his head!

They haven't said that in England (ENG?) for many years. You should get out more.

So, if you're that smart, just execute him You will anyway. He gave no one their rights, strip him of his. Besides....you'll save the money so you can take care of someone who is really innocent.

Better even as now he can rot seeing only people who hate him for the rest of his life.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, he'll join the local chapter of Aryan Nation, and live like a king. He's a mass murderer; he'll shoot right up the ranks.

Loughner plead guilty to prevent evidence from being presented in his case. Loughner is tied to other mass murders via psych meds and ties to US military mind control experiments, and a guilty plea ends the possibility that evidence of his ties to his US government handlers will become public.

Obviously I don't believe he is capable of change. You can be as kind and considerate as you want but you have to come down to reality. Some psychopaths aren't able to change: they have actually justified themselves in their mindsets that what they are doing is right (i.e. look at his condescending smile and blank eyes devoid of any normal human emotion). From personal experience, it is very hard for people to change...especially grown men like him.
Would you sing the same tune if he killed someone close to you?
Would you say the same for James Holmes!

I don't think he will change, but I think that society would benefit more from studying him to hopefully prevent future tragedies

I'm definitely for capital punishment and would have no problems seeing Loughner executed for his crimes. But, from what I read, the victims and their families were all in agreement with the terms of the plea deal giving him the life sentence with no parole. I would always respect the victims wishes regardless of personal feelings. I wasn't shot nor a family member lost so it's their closure that counts most.
  • Jean ☆FritzW☆ 2012/08/13 16:08:31

I agree with you that it should be left up to the families of the victims.

Why the hell does this monster gets a plea deal in the first place? The victims didn´t get a second chance did they now?

HELL NO! They need to light him up! Better yet hand him over to the families of the people he killed and let them decide his fate.. WHATEVER that may be.

Now the taxpayer is gonna have to give this killer room and board for the rest of his life. he will play pool, lift weights, and read books, surf the internet and not have a worry in the world, he even gets free medical care at the taxpayers expense, not to mention the millions his defense in the court costs the taxpayer.
I would say we the people are also the victims in this case, because we too are going to have to pay.
I hope all those people against the death penalty have to cough up their share of the upkeep!!!!
When your taxes go up next year, you know who's benefiting from you hard work!
I think they should bring back the 'Guillotine', I think criminals would think twice if that were the method used as the death penalty!

The chances of his getting OFF by reason of insanity in a long drawn out and very expensive procedure is/was very real, this decision puts him away for lifel unfortunately, probably in protective conditions to avoid his being killed by his roomate or others.

This one should be put to death. There is no medicine out there that I could ever trust should he get loose from prison or some day let go.
I can only hope the cons have learned their lesson in feeding into nutballs their rage for death and pointing who they would like killed.

I feel he's just a waste of space. He'll suffer nothing locked up. There is no lesson for him to learn behind bars. If I killed someone so blatantly I'd plead guilty and ask to die. I really would. You get what you give. He's a cockaroach and deserves to die.

Look, put him on death row and it's a waste of time. It will cost us more money. He'll go through appeal appeal appeal He'll die on death row. They will never execute him. So what's the big deal. Lock him up and that's it.
