Arianna Huffington: Glenn Beck's too dangerous to ignore

Arianna Huffington says in her Sunday Roundup, "Part of me resents spending even a second of my life thinking about him. But part of me recognizes that [Glenn Beck]'s too dangerous to ignore."

Arianna argued that the government cannot legally hold Glenn Beck liable, but we should hold him "morally liable" for the violence and anger his show may provoke. Arianna wants Fox to fire Beck and praised the firing of Lou Dobbs from CNN.

As for Glenn Beck encouraging violence... that would violate the First Amendment and we could hold him responsible. But has Beck really done that? Or has the Left begun its assualt on Beck because they fear he has gained an audience by relentlessly criticizing President Obama.

With fresh blood in the water after successfully getting CNN to fire another Obama critic, I suspect activist groups and the Left Wing media have zeroed in on Beck.

Arianna owns her media company, so she should recognize the danger in encouraging the media from firing its staff because of pressure from activists.

I think Arianna probably doesn't miss a show. Here's the problem Arianna, and her ilk, faces - The US Constitution. Inside the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and that 17 page document lies the answer to her absurd assertions about revolution and violence. Something people like Huffington don't understand are the wordings within those docs and why they came into being.

I was present with the others who attended 9/12. That wasn't a Glenn Beck project though he supported that. That was essentially the beginning of the present revolt against this excessive spending and excessive big government that the majority of Americans are fed up with. It was peaceful. This country is very capable of peacefully ending tyranny and disposing of tyrants.

I tell people these days, who weren't there, that if that crowd had wanted to empty the Capitol Building there wouldn't be too much that anyone could have done to prevent that. The sheer numbers would have over whelmed any resistance. That isn't something that was necessary at that moment in time.

I dealt violence for 23 years as a service member. it isn't pretty and listening to Beck doesn't incite me to do anything. Tyranny and idiocy could eventually spur me to a different recourse but I'm like many other Americans. I'll give them enough rope to hang themselves.

Heads up ariana....the nutroots are the violent ones. Just look at the Tea Party events, compared to Copenhagen....dem conventions.

Exposing the papers they wrote, speeches, and videos of the obama admin...and then asking people to decide for themselves...is hardly a call to violence.

But I can see why ariana , and the nutroots ilk fear an informed public. admin people decide violence ariana nutroots ilk fear informed public

When I think of Right Wing protesters, I don't imagine them dressing up as turtles and yelling at the police. Left Wingers at Copenhagen wing protesters imagine dressing turtles yelling police wingers copenhagen

There were some pretty silly get-ups at some of the Tea Partys...but they were not aggressive.
But I think the only violence at the parties was from the SCIU....or started by the nutroots .
Wow...did you see the Copenhagen police clubbing those fools with night sticks? LOL...I let out a cheer !

Ditto for Arianna. She and her type while sickening to think about are much more dangerous than anything on the right. They seek to remove the freedoms of all Americans and turn our rights over to the Government.

Just like the liberal mainstream media, always bash, bash, bash everything on the right, simply because of their loss of power. Their man Obama is going down the drain and fast, because of people like, Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly and Rush who always report in a fair and balanced, and truthful way. So what if it seems they could be somewhat loud and vocal, unlike their counterparts on the left, who are flat out, rude, crude, not there to report, but instead to give their opinions, ( which is a not to in the journalists handbook of good reporting ).

And last I heard FOX may pick up Dobbs, because he slanted away from the terror on TV coming from all the left/liberal channels.

To the Left wing medias, good luck at getting Beck fired, his ratings are so far up the ladder that it will not ever happen. He is definitely one of my favorite guys from FOX channels wing medias luck beck fired ratings ladder guys fox

Have you noticed that Liberals always want to remove Conservatives from the airwaves? They are all for free speech...their own! Conservatives typically argue the facts. Liberals try and remove the speaker.

Oh i guess that is why Obama went to war with fox huh? to remove the mirror.
Obama sees that he is a filthy commie pig and just doesn`t like his reflection.
All the libs who are commie loving scumbags want Glenn Beck removed go figure.
They all hate America, and just can`t seem to understand why so many of us Love America. This libs hate Glenn beck because his ratings prove that there are more of us who do love America then there are of the commie loving retards.

yup that pretty well sums it up. with all we know about their problems with numbers i'm sure their made up amounts of pro destruction is much smaller than they are letting on. we know of the DC march almost 2 mil showed up that didn't account for the millions who couldn't get there! there are a lot more of us than there are of them, that's why they are trying to dismantle so much of the constitution with all the crappy bills they are slipping through.

Personally, I don't read huffington. But I doubt Murdoch would fire Beck. In fact I would speculate that if Murdoch buys MSNBC or some other format, Dobbs may be the cornerstone to that network. Arianna should possibly watch her own company, this is still a capitalist society and hostile takeovers do occur, if a company is ripe for the taking. Murdoch is a shrewd businessman. Between him and the owners of Telemundo......she may want to watch out.

That Glenn Beck is dangerous. If he is allowed to go forth with his wild diatribes, look out. Who knows what might happen. His rhetoric will play right into the ugly paranoia of those fanatical militia types, don't you know. With Beck given free reign, can another Timothy McVeigh-like attack be far behind? A cycle of murder and senseless violence will overwhelm us all. No public servant will be safe, just like that poor Kentucky census worker brutally hanged in September with the word "FED" scrawled across his chest.

You remember him - that part-time census worker. You'll know - just like writer Andrew Sullivan told us - he was the victim of those hateful tea party bashers, those racist anti-government extremists who preach extermination of every program that helps the poor. The Kentucky guy's demise was all so predictable what with those right-wingers spewing their unbridled hate the way they do. No doubt about it, his murder can be laid directly at the feet of those militant hate mongers, people like trash-talking blogger Michelle Malkin, racist right-wing talk-show host Rush Limbaugh (who only wants to get into the NFL so he can lord it over the high-salaried black athletes), and that Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Progressive talk show host Stephanie Miller was...

Progressive talk show host Stephanie Miller was so dead on about these people.

Michele Bachmann! Can you imagine being so irresponsible as to denounce the 2010 census the way she did, and just a couple weeks before the guy's murder. No question about it - she bears full responsibility for the barbaric goons who strung him up. Author Richard Benjamin was so properly indignant to tell us so.

Oh, wait - just a minute here. There is a small problem. Today we have learned that all of that was a lie. It so happens the Kentucky census worker wasn't murdered at all. Authorities tell us he committed suicide. He only tried to make it look like a homicide. Oops.
