Question US

ARE YOU TIRED OF THE INCOMPETANCE?

Endless Roads May 17, 2009 16:33:27

Government, from local to the national level, has shown itself to be nothing but incompetent. Yet some call for more, bigger government, with more control over our lives. What about you? Had enough?

Get rid of all sitting politicians. 2 year term limits regardless of position. Max 2 terms for any elected post.
Requirement to get on the ballot? 1000 signatures. Nothing else. No millions of dollars, nothing. You get 1000 signatures and you get to run for anything from dogcatcher to President.

It is time to restore our Republic. You can do a word search on the Constitution and see how many times it say the word "LIMITED" I belief it is 23 off the top of my head.

There are so many people in government that try to intimidate you because they work in some type of government capacity; Thinking this makes them better than you with power over your life. When in fact they are not doing what they get paid for each day. Which is really putting a poor image on their department. Meaning they are not needed and the department could get along fine without them,
Have you ever called to get information from a government office and feel like you got no help and you knew more than the person you were talking with. The professionalism and giving good service is nearly a thing of the past.

Government is inherently incompetant. It's massive size, it's beaurcracy where one agency doesn't talk to another, the turf wars, the infighting. It's a huge problem that only gets worse in my opinion. Give me my freedom to act in my best interest. I don't need some nanny state to tell me what's in my best interest. Gov't does too much and I want to be left to pursue my life's ambitions, not forced into programs (like social security) that I don't want. I'll take responsibility for my decisions.

pursue lifes ambitions forced programs social security ill responsibility decisions

At this point, limited government and personal responsibility seems like nothing but a dream. I guess if we're going to dream, we may as well dream big. Can we have a return to a government that actually believes and follows the Constitution too. I know, I've gone too far now.

    I'd have to disagree.

If you look back we went through worse during The Great Depression, including socialism.

We came out of that and, for a time, scaled it back.

if anyone wants to know what it is like to have social health-care take a good hard look at the incompetent care of the V.A.
if you think living in a social Democracy live on a military base
I know what its like I have lived with it my whole life. I now live in the civilian world as a Disabled vet and I spend my pension on private health care rather than going to a V.A. hospital

I homecared my father through Alzheimer's. My father was a pilot in wwII. He was enrolled in the VA. I saw how bad it was and quickly pulled him out. Paying for it was far better than anything the government had to offer.

my dad was WWII pacific vet, 5 purple hearts and when it got bad for him we had no alternative but the V.A. I cannot describe the horror and incompetence. last fall my brother chuck died from exposure to agent orange they told him it wouldn't get bad for at least 9 months but they talked him into 1 round of chemo and nuke, they gave him 3 times more chemo and nuke he died 3 weeks later, absolutely total horror, i begged him not to do it and he promised me he wouldn't but 12hrs later he let them torture him to death for 3 weeks.
I feel your pain, in this you and I are brethren

ENOUGH! - lets get back to limited government and personal responsibilty

I want the government to leave us alone and let us live our lives unmolested by them. They are ONLY up there in DC to serve US not themselves. They seem to forget it periodically and we must remind them that "You work for us not the other way around". After all most of us are adults and take our responsibilities seriously. As responsible adults, we can take care of ourselves better than the government ever could.

The only way for this to happen is if the electorate moves to being less partisan and starts holding all elected officials accountable for their actions.
