Are you still bitterly clinging to your Global Warming Religion?

NO. -I never bought into the AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming) nonsense. But the lib/progs are still bitterly clinging to their AGW religion and their CAP & TRADE Scam.
I used to be an Anthropogenic Global Warming Believer, but I became a Climate "Skeptic"
I'm an AGW Believer -I don't care how much CRU data was fudged or dumped, I'm still bitterly clinging to my environmental religion!

The emails hacked from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia taint the entire global warming religion:
-email evidence reveals a scandal involving some of the most prominent scientists pushing the man-made warming theory... "a scandal that is one of the greatest in modern science.”

In one email by Phil Jones:
“I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.”~ Phil Jones, the head of the CRU, to Michael Mann ( of runaway temp “hockey stick” fame)

I've always known the evidence was extremely weak, based as it is primarily upon incomplete computer weather modeling programs. Climate science is actually a very young field, and far too much is still unknown or imperfectly understood about the basic causes and factors that influence global weather & climate patterns.

So, naturally, when I hear carbon-polluting hypocrites and greenhouse gas-bags like Al Gore and Michael Mann saying "the science is settled, the debate is over" and other gullible people foaming at the mouth saying "we've got to do something now!" or we're all going to burn, I'm immediately very skeptical.

On a side note, here's probably the best evidence I've yet seen supporting the theory of Global Warming:

..Big Freeze: Earth Could Plunge into Sudden Ice Age

In the film, "The Day After Tomorrow," the world gets gripped in ice within the span of just a few weeks. Now research now suggests an eerily similar event might indeed have occurred in the past.

Looking ahead to the future, there is no reason why such a freeze shouldn't happen again - and in ironic fashion it could be precipitated if ongoing changes in climate force the Greenland ice sheet to suddenly melt, scientists say.

Starting roughly 12,800 years ago, the Northern Hemisphere was gripped by a chill that lasted some 1,300 years. Known by scientists as the Younger Dryas and nicknamed the "Big Freeze," geological evidence suggests it was brought on when a vast pulse of fresh water - a greater volume than all of North America's Great Lakes combined - poured into the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.

This abrupt influx, caused when the glacial Lake Agassiz in North America burst its banks, diluted the circulation of warmer water in the North Atlantic, bringing this "conveyer belt" to a halt. Without this warming influence, evidence shows that temperatures across the Northern Hemisphere plummeted.

    No time to react

Previous evidence from Greenland ice samples had suggested this abrupt shift in climate happened over the span of a decade or so. Now researchers say it surprisingly may have taken place over the course of a few months, or a year or two at most.

"That the climate system can turn on and off that quickly is extremely important," said earth system scientist Henry Mullins at Syracuse University, who did not take part in this research. "Once the tipping point is reached, there would be essentially no opportunity for humans to react."

For two years, isotope biogeochemist William Patterson at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada and his colleagues investigated a mud core - a tube of mud - taken from the ancient lake Lough Monreach in Ireland. Because this sediment was deposited slowly over time, each layer from this core effectively represents a snapshot of history, with slices just a half-millimeter thick presenting one to three months.

"Basically, I drive around in western Ireland looking for the right conditions - bedrock, vegetation and lake - to obtain the most complete record of climate," Patterson explained.

    The details

By looking at isotopes of carbon in each slice, the researchers could deduce how productive the lake was. When plants grow in lakes, they prefer carbon-12 to make up their organic tissue - that is, carbon atoms that have 12 protons and neutrons in total in their nucleus. This leaves the lake water with relatively more carbon-13. At the same time, oxygen isotopes give a picture of temperature - when animals or plants produce calcium carbonate, the ratio of oxygen-16 and oxygen-18 isotopes within are related to temperature.

At the start of the Younger Dryas, Patterson and his colleagues discovered temperatures and lake productivity dropped over the course of just a few years.

"It would be like taking Ireland today and moving it up to above the Arctic Circle, creating icy conditions in a very short period of time," Patterson said.

Their findings also suggest that it may have taken 100 to 200 years before the lake and climate recovered, rather than the decade or so that Greenland ice cores had indicated.

"This makes sense because it would take time for the ocean and atmospheric circulation to turn on again," Patterson said.

The discrepancies between the evidence from the mud core and the ice cores might be due to disturbances in how material flowed within the ice. "Sometimes there's melting, and you have percolation of material between layers, which can blur the records," Patterson explained. "We found a core that had not been disturbed even on a millimeter by millimeter basis, so the sediment had been layered in order since it was deposited."

    Chilly future

Looking ahead to the future, Patterson said there was no reason why a big freeze shouldn't happen again.

"If the Greenland ice sheet melted suddenly it would be catastrophic," he said.

This kind of scenario would not discount evidence pointing toward global warming - after all, it leans on the Greenland ice sheet melting.

"We could say that global warming could lead to a dramatic cooling," Patterson told LiveScience. "This should serve as a further warning rather than a pass."

"People assume that we're political, that we're either pro-global-warming or anti-global-warming, when it's really neither," Patterson added. "Our goal is just to understand climate."

The more I have looked at the situation not just with the earth's climate but with the environment in general, the more I see a disconnect between the problems we face and the solutions we are being offered.

All the hungry people, all the pollution, the dying oceans, the toxic ground water, the mess GMOs are making of the genetics of our crops, the new nicotine based insecticide that is killing off all the bees...

And they offer us a global carbon tax to 'fight global warming' when it has been getting cooler for the last 5 years!

I never believed it for a minute, it's been a scam since the 70's when they kicked it off with the whole "give a hoot, don't pollute" campaign which quickly turned into conservation (80) then global warming in the 90's and climate change soon after the the turn of the century . . . it's all about making someone rich while the rest of us pay for their bright idea causes.

I ask us all to change - to treat the planet as you would your home. My bayou is disgusting because industry and waste treatment did not take care of it. There are fish in our bay that have both sets of sex organs and tumors. There are billboards warning pregnant women not to eat fish and shell fish. It is creeping up on us - we accept dirty air and dirty water and chemicals in our food. We have been bad stewards - not just others. I use the bathroom in my home - not just any room. The garbage isn't thrown on the floor. Our homes would be intolerable. We have to take care of the messes we make intelligently so our children won't suffer. We are fouling our nest - that is the earth. Our children deserve better. We can do better.

Do you crap out of your mouth? Won't answer the question? Where were you back in the 70s when the rivers were burning and we had acid rain? We took the lead out of gas and passed law after law to stop pollution. Back then they said by the year 2000 the air wouldn't be fit to breathe and the water wouldn't be fit to drink and you wouldn't be able to go outside because the ozone would be so depleted that the sun would burn your skin. The first Earth Day was about the coming Ice-Age! The reality is the air and water are cleaner now than they've been for a hundred years. If their is someone polluting in your area call the EPA! I can't believe that you accept the lies you are being fed and follow along obediently just like a sheeple!

Go drink out of your nearest river. You cannot defend the indefensible. I follow the science and use common sense. The water and air in my town are in bad shape. We don't swim in the bays and bayous, and there are warnings about eating the fish. Our numbers and industrial practices have destroyed the area. We have more than our share of super fund sites. EPA can't do anything with underground creosote lakes and the plumes that are heading to our bay at a steady rate. I take the warnings seriously. Just spent many hours picking up trash from the streets - much of it was in the culverts leading directly into the bayou. I spent 6 years as the secretary of the local clean up organization and we were able to read all the reports from the 1950s. Only when the Clean Water Act came into play in the 70s, were the locals able to stop industry from dumping chemicals into the bayous. They had to be fined constantly, though. Wouldn't stop. There was waste also being flushed into the water from the local treatment plants. Every time it rains, the overflow still goes into the water. Local gov has to be shoved into doing anything - industry has to be threatened - small improvements come but only because people like me do the research, organize and push and play watch dog.
