Question US

Are you satisfied with the election results?

SodaHead Politics November 05, 2008 03:07:30

The results are in and the 2008 Presidential Election is finally over. Barack Obama is the new President of the United States of America! Throw in the towel George W. Bush, because you won't be in office much longer. Time bells are ringing, and this season is all about change. The economy is in a bad place, but our new President may be the answer to the financial crisis, oil prices and taxes. Are you ready for a new leader of the free world? Are you satisfied with the 2008 presidential election results?
Yes, I am satisfied with the 2008 presidential election results.
No, I am not satisfied with the 2008 presidential election results.
You!

not true! even my 2 CPA's are scared to death for their clients. It won't propose a problem to the poor and or even the people that are making $30-$50,000.oo, but people that are in business for themself~it looks pretty bad. People will see the 'change' soon enough.

I could give you plenty of examples of the negativity here on SH. Many McCain supporters are still dissing Obama. Just take a walk on here and you can't miss it.

So you as a business owner, personally make more than $250K a year? That is some small business. All Obama wants to do is reverse the tax cuts for the wealthy that Bush put in place. Obama's plan takes us back to the Clinton years where his plan created prosperity and jobs. Sounds good to me. I am a small business owner too and am happy about it. I will get a tax break under Obama.. something I haven't gotten under Bush.

Is it really dissing or is it just their point of view and where they stand on issues... I don't see any of this... Most people realize it is a history moment of him being elected, but for those of us who didn't vote for him get crap because we didn't... I can't tell you how many times I got "are you racist"... That's insulting in itself... Seriously, I knew many people that wouldn't even say they voted for McCain because of the backlash they got... I knew many that voted for Obama too... So, I just don't associate with people that only think like I do... America will always be divided because you are just as one sided as those who are very right winged... I would say I'm a moderate... If everyone could come to some sort of common ground I think things could get a lot better... Government that is... and as far as our business goes... It's more than 3%... My husband and I both work and have a business on the side we are building that's doing really well... SO we are taxed off of all of our personal income (with the business)... If you truly have a small business you have to know how much money goes into building it and running it... It's still a young company and until we see how Obama's presidency is going to go we will not quit to make it a full time commitment... I'm not sur...

Please fill me in because everything I've researched about him and his policies taxes all the way around are going to go up for everyone... Except for the people who don't pay any taxes anyway...

I really do run a small business and have since 1992. I was able to build it during the Clinton years.. along with an amazing solar powered adobe house in a gorgeous area in NM, that is completely paid off thanks to Bill. I have no debts either.. not a one. Under Clinton.. the economy soared. Those were truly prosperous times. We even had a surplus.. how bout that! Bush came along and gave tax breaks to the rich.. the big corporations and look where we are now. The economy is in the dumper. Obama wants to re-instate Clinton's tax plan and from what I can tell..he is putting together a strong team.. with a few experienced Clinton cabinet people in there to get the job done right.

Sounds like you are just starting your business. How would Obama's tax plan hurt you? It will no doubt help you. Obama's tax plan is not in place yet but this is what he claims.. I am more than happy to give him a chance and am confident that he will turn this country around and restore prosperity. It won't happen overnight.. but Bill Ciinton's plan didn't either.

Business is about 6 years old... We finally built a building for it last year... My husband and I both have careers outside of this, but want to make a full commitment to the business... Soon... I also help run a bigger business with two of my cousins; which will definitley take a harder hit from Obamas tax increases...

I am curious when your business starting going downhill because of the Bush Administration?

I have no doubt everyones taxes will be raised... How else on earth is he going to get his huge agenda done?

I hate the idea of more government in my life, and I know this is Obama's plan... It works this way... The more money Government gets... The more it can hand out... This creates more dependency... You are one of the few that has no debt... I'm not sure what size business you have? Because I actually try and make my business look at a loss so I don't have to pay the IRS... The only people who may come out getting a check are those who don't pay taxes anyway... and we all know this money isn't going to help them... only inable them... It will only make them "feel" better... but it won't help them...

I also know I don't want anymore money taken out of my check.

I'm not sure if you are married, but if you aren't... and you make 150,000 a year you will as wel...

'I am curious when your business starting going downhill because of the Bush Administration?'

I never said that.. but do wish you good luck with your business! You are buying so much right wing spin no wonder you're worried. BTW the Bush administration is all about big spending and huge government! LOL Take a deep breath and trust our new President-elect. He'll actually pare things down and introduce fiscal efficiency. You will be pleasantly surprised. Ciao!

I've owned a restaurant for 25 years, the economy did not soar! and taxes were terrible for business with Clinton. I employ 100 people, all my taxes have been lowered and business has increased by 50%, especially in the last 15yrs. I opened a second business 9 years ago, took it from $50,000 a year to $1,500,000. this year. Thank you President Bush for giving me that opportunity.

Excited too. Here's one readon. Obama's IQ tested out at 164 and 172 in Kindergarden and went to a special high IQ high school in Hawaii. Obama graduated near the top of his class Harvard Law School and is a Constitutional Law Expert who taught the subject.
McCain's IQ is around 125, and he graduated sixth from the bottom at his military college. He is not stupid but he does fumble over his speeches and his facts. I say bless him - but glad he is not our President Elect. He may have a role in the new Administration. That would be good. There will be other Republicans there too in the Cabinet etc.

Having high IQ doesn't means you are the smartest & the best for any given job.

High IQ will tells you nothing about a person’s drive or self-mastery, their ability to collaborate or empathize, let alone their ethics.

High IQ is not a creditable predictor of job performance. In particularly, its a poor predictor of final performance.

Remember, Harvard University practices affirmative action. Due to effort to diversify, minority students' SAT score are padded with bonus points to superficially elevate their academic standing.

Take away the padded points, in REALITY, Obama's IQ is equivalent to 116. That is significantly less intelligent than Hillary's 140 IQ, and lower than George W. Bush's 125 IQ .

Obsessd by Obama's IQ, the psychotic Obama supporters has been insisting that he is intelligent b/c he can read teleprompter. Well, he sure has demonstrated his ignorance and a less-than-impressive intelligence nearly every time he opens his mouth(w/o teleprompter) despite his handlers' attempts to retroactively fix his statements

Obama has been keeping his academic records hidden. If its open to the public, we'd find out Obama's IQ is lower than Bush, but much higher than Bush with a teleprompter.

The fact that Obama is so willing to publicly demonstrate his ignorance on a regular basis is evidence of his lack of superlative intelligence. Obama's IQ is closer to the average Joe than he'd like everyone to believe.

In reality, Obama was an Affirmative Action student, to an AA Harvard law editor & for now an AA prez elect( not done yet, SC has the last words).

IQ tests is subjectively applied. W/o shame, the psychotic Obama know nothing sheepoles has HYPERBOLICized it in according to their agenda.

Sadly, there are plenty of DELUSIONAL, ARROGANT people around here who simply don't know how stupid & wrong they are on a lot of things about BHO the AA guy.

I have to say we all know book smarts don't = a genius... (I would definitely hire the person who has common sense and can handle things without being guided 24/7 before I would hire the person who is all book smarts...) I truly think you can go further in life... Being a President you need to be able to fly with it and if you have ever seen Obama put on the spot he fails big time... Once Obama is preped he won't forget what you've told him because he retains... BUT he does fumble over his words if he isn't prompted or has something in front of him... All I can say is I hope he picks a really good cabinet so they can guide him because he has zero experience in high stressed situations... Do you remember when all of that stuff was going on in Georgia and the things he said when asked by the press to see what his opinion was... He said some really goofy things and stuff he should not have said... Not until McCain gave his two cents about it he came back and said exactly what McCain said...

When have you ever seen Obama fail to keep his composure when put on the spot as you say? Give me one instance where he wasnt on topic and on point? And as for a high stress situation, how about having to go out and deliver a speech after just hearing that the woman who is responsible for helping raise you is dead and wont be around to see you become president. If that isnt a high stres situation then I don know what is.

Just look up blunders under Obama... There are hundreds... You will also find out he is not as knowledgeable as what you think he is... There are many stories he told which were fabricted or just not the truth... Just like him being conceived during the march over the bridge... He didn't come until years and years after this...
