One of the founders I think it was TJ said that every few years we needed to readjust our government and we have not done so for over 200 years, so it must be time.

    Yes Thomas Jefferson is oft quoted for saying;
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

I Submit to you for inspection , the words of Abraham Lincoln
"The ballot is stronger than the bullet."
a proposition that Thomas Jefferson also endorsed

Thomas Jefferson sent a letter to Thomas Paine in 1796, in which he wrote:
"Go on doing with your pen what in other times was done with the sword."

In this sentiement , let us recruit forces and reclaim our country this November. The first skirmish was in 2010 , Obama called it a shellacking .
Let us refresh the Tree of Libety with the ballot box in November and purge the Congress , State and local officials and send all the career politicos seeking honest work.

The problem with many right wingers is their lack of courage and pessimism.

The reason liberals are getting away with so much is because a lot of right wingers are cowardly and pessimistic, I got into an argument with 1 that was like that and she blocked me and another blocked me who only replied to me once if I remember right. I'm a conservative btw.

That certainly is one way but not many have the chops to do that. If everyone stopped paying taxes, they can't arrest millions of ppl.

yep. here in Florida, Rick Scott [aka 22% Rick - - now THERE'S a case of buyer's remorse if there ever was one] is doing everything he can to take away voting rights. and he's not alone.

ironically, the only recourse we have is the very one he is attacking. pretty crafty of him, no? but with his approval rating in the toilet, it's his only chance to keep his job.

But, just MAYBE, Rick Scott doesn't feel that non-existant or dead voters have any business deciding an election outcome.

Isn't amazing that it easier to vote in America than it is in Mexico.
There you have a national registration card with your picture on it and it is matched to the voter list also with you picture on it.
If they can do this in Mexico where people are not rich Norte Americanos, why not here.

Interesting that one of the most advanced nations on earth have such careless voting procedures. If those procedures were stringent, though, how could corrupt people/parties cheat?
  • twocrows Tasine 2012/07/02 19:25:02
    twocrows
oh, so THAT'S why the election commissioners - of both parties - are refusing to do what he told them to. that's every single one of them in the entire state - - - gee, I wonder why that might be?
they found the lists to be rife with errors and decided that disenfranchising legal voters isn't in the nation's best interests.

just MAYBE he's averse to Democrats voting.
the only problem with the people on those rolls is the fact that they are either registered Democrats or of a demographic that tends to vote Dem.
cutting us out of the mix is, after all, the only chance HE has of being reelected. even then, it's likely to be close. he is universally hated down here.

and then there's the law against purging the rolls so close to an election. and, when the DoJ told Scott to cease and desist on his illegal behavior, he doubled down. no surprise really. google "Rick Scott Medicare fraud."

but hey, just keep on believing the propaganda if it will help you sleep nights. the fact that it's designed to help your party keep power is a plus, I'm sure.

YOU may be this government. I am certainly NOT and don't WANT to be. We are TAUGHT that it is OUR government, one of the biggest scams pulled on Americans there is. It it were OUR government, we would have more of a say than the politicians. Do you see that happening anywhere? They tell us to do thus and so, and if we don't, they have the power to put us in prison. If YOU choose to believe YOU are this government, then I have a real bone to pick with you.

I have no idea what your gripe is, other than the fact that you hate our government. We need to change some things like over ride the supreme court ruling that corporations are people and get money out of politics.

If we would stop arguing and insist that our representatives make new laws to change campaigning to exclude ALL private money, it would level the playing field. Just so you know the real corporate money being spent on politics is on the right.

What the heck are you talking about? I don't "do" Fox - never have. It appears you are saying the left MUST make all right wing contributors evil while keeping all left wing donors pristinely clean and above board, ignoring their decadence and their ignorance and their total lack of societal responsibility. Isn't that what you are saying? Never mind. You can't see for all the fairy dust surrounding your head.
  • Jane Tasine 2012/07/03 01:36:01

Wrong, I want all campaigning funded with tax dollars and not with special interest monies. And I think there should laws against all the lies and distortions.
  • Tasine Jane 2012/07/03 01:41:03

Laws, laws, and more laws. Is that the only solution the left can find in order to get their own way?
