Are you personally doing better in some way like financially or having a better life in what you own under Obama than you were under Bush ?

U-Dog 2012/06/15 05:34:55No Way !! (details)+13I have not been affected as much as some simply because I have learned to avoid crony-cap gimmicks and tricks; but America, as a whole, lost 40% of its wealth in the blink of an eye. A hell of a lot of crooks -- left and right -- should be in jail today but they are still running the asylum because the sheople are too fxcking stupid and dumbed down to pay attention to anything but the latest shinny bobble.

I use to be able to fill up 3 vehicals one of them a truck every two weeks now I have sold teh truck and the cars get filled up one and then 2 weeks later the other and we do not drive anywhere extra I ride my bike and walk more
I use to have money to buy a high quality dog food for my dogs now we by cheaper food for them.
I use to be able to send my mother money to help her pay her bills now I cant. i use to have a savings account with 12 months worth of living saved up now I have a savings accout with $10.52 in it.
My spouse use to bring home 5 figures at least 1 time a year in commissions now commisions are far and few betweem.
Our retirement accounts use to be pretty good for low risk investments now... well good thing we both like our work cuz we will be at it a long time
But in all honesty I do not blame either president for this mess... I blame all those people who have been pushing for decades for government to tax and spend so people who don't earn their own way can have many of the things those who do earn their own way have. I blame those who cry foul when someone is successful and then push to punish that sucess until there is no incentive at all t...

I blame those who cry foul when someone is successful and then push to punish that sucess until there is no incentive at all to be sucessful.... presidents have very little control over the economy except in their ability to sign into law those polices writen up by congress which kill incentive to work, drive employers off shore and pit people against people in a envy war so they can remain in power and teh people so stupid and selfish and lazy fall for it every time.... its the people's fault we are so screwed up and until the people get tehir business together that is the way we will stay
Under HW Bush I did well.
Under Clinton I did ok.
Under GW Bush I did ok.
After three & a half years of Obama I am unemployed.
Totally raped my financial reserves due to moving out of the house I lost. I have $6.35 in my savings account. That'll go far.
My health insurance went up 40% after the passing of ACA.
Since January 2012, I have over $7000.00 in medical bills that I didn't have before ACA. Same stuff going on; less being covered. I am now medically bankrupt.
My disposable income has decreased by ca. 40%
Haven't eaten steak in over three years. Beef in our area has gone up 30-40% since the inauguration. Well, that might be a good thing.
I don't go anywhere other than doctors, grocery store, and to daughter's home (10 miles) to visit or pick up grandchildren.
Don't have the money for gas to visit other grandson in VA, except annually.
As an addendum, I don't expect any of this to improve under a new administration. The damage is done. It will take years to repair, if at all possible. Obbie voted for the stimulus as senator/presidential candidate, and the Dems still controlled Congress, so the ol' blame George mantra doesn't hold water. There's plenty of blame to go around.
Layoffs across the board.
Husband unemployed for two years.
No, much worse. Much much worse.
Nope, I'm self-employed...
And Obama...he'll be re-elected in November.
And Obama will go on to be re-elected on November, partly due to that victory.
Most of a plan staying intact sounds like a win to me...
Another "collateral damage," was the attempted suicide of the wife of another businessman whose belongings were seized by a sheriff under orders of a judge who had ruled that, because the man could not afford a lawyer, he did not deserve the right to appear before the judge and represent himself. The judge issued a summary judgment against him while he was in the hospital recovering from emergency heart surgery, saying that he was going to lose anyway, and it would be a waste of the court's time to allow him to appear and have his say.
None of this destruction would have been possible if Geithner had not sent bank regulators out with orders to get the banks out of construction and real estate loans by any means possible (See National City Bank board minutes), which they executed by telling bankers to stop funding those loans. None of this destruction would have been possible if Geithner had not sent bank regulators out with orders to get the banks out of construction and real estate loans by any means possible (See National City Bank board minutes), which they executed by telling bankers to stop funding those loans. The federal government gave TARP money to the banks, along with paying for the losses on the loans with federal insurance money by getting the banks to dummy up false allegations to make the loans look "bad."
To Obama, Geithner, et. al., the private construction industry was collateral damage and needed to be destroyed to save the banks. A study by the Federal Reserve of St, Louis pinpointed the loss, showing that 22% of all jobs lost were in direct construction jobs, but did not put a figure on the percentage of jobs lost in related industries that supply and serve construction. This is the real story of the Great Recession that we the middle class still suffer from. and this is the reason that the economy will not be coming back as long as justice is bought and laws written to give unlimited power to the banks.
Needless to say, I'm working 10-11 hour days and I'm always worried that I'll be next. I'm also losing sleep thinking my about my kids in college - specifically my oldest and the job market she'll hit a year from now.
