Are you interested in Politics or couldn't care less ?

Flowers, we also seem to fixated on winning arguments/debates. Many don't seem to care if they are right or wrong, as long as they best the person debating whatever the issue. The more emotional, the more important "winning" is. I like debating dispassionate people, or people who are able to debate while keeping emotions in check. ("Logic" is often the loser in emotional debates....sometimes called arguments.)

I rarely allow emotion to overcome my words,especially in debates online. In real life, it's more difficult for me so I tend to hold my tongue alot

I was very interested in politics as a means of finding an equation for the universality of mankind, and found politics to be in utter error. It's a game of playing with stolen money.

Something Sea, I'd be interested in the definition of the very word, "politics". I may have the wrong definition. In today's world, it seems that nothing is defined the way it used to be, beginning with the word "is", debated in a previous Presidency. "Political Process" is a term more easily defined, at least for me. The "political process" would include the art of expediency,, while the word "political" would allude to government, or governmental organization. I would connect "politician" to an unscrupulous, manipulative, control-freak with real power, and access to OPM..(Other People's Money). Would you mind sharing your definition of "politics"? Thanks.

Sure: Politics is the discussing of money taken via coercion as to where it will go, assuming bureaucratic inefficiency (as is standard), as well as voter pull (YOU BELIEVE IN THE WRONG THING! SUPPORT THIS, NOT THAT!). I consider it unproductive for two reasons:
1. All of the discussion and effort is about how government, a coercive way of being with others, will solve problems. Government doesn't solve problems.
2. Taxation is something like 15%, where 75% is your own, unstolen (although fiat-based) money. Why not focus on your REAL power, being that we're connected to other people and can make new voluntary connections easily?

Very interested, and it's amazing the degree to which it affects our lives and people do not even pay attention.

One woman in my office said she voted for obama, feels it's Congress's fault the country hasn't improved and hasn't heard of Solyndra. It just goes to show you that dumb people going to the voting booth is destroying it for all of us.

It is kind of fun seeing how my fellow Americans are destroying my nation.

I find it frustrating to the Nth degree, but I believe it is our responsibility as citizens to be accurately informed, vote, and help make accurate information available to others. Our future and the future of our children and grandchildren depend on our making wise choices as a nation. Throwing up our hands in despair and letting political forces run wild is not in the best interest of our people, in my opinion! Democracy only works if we work at it!
