As a white male commonly used as a straw man for all of America's ills, are never pandered to in any manner. Groups like minorities, blacks, Soccer moms, Hockey moms, and women in general are often singled out and courted by politicians of all persuasions. But for politicians, it appears to be quite the difficult task to do it in a manner that is not pandering and/or patronizing.

it takes real nerve to insist that "women are not some monolithic group, women are not an interest group" at an event entitled "The White House Forum in Women and the Economy".

There are voters in every demographic group who enjoy being reduced to an "identity" and then patronized for it.

Even ABC, in a straight-up news report on the event, couldn't refrain from wincing:

Enough already with singling out groups. WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER PEOPLE, like it or not. What affects one affects all, or, what affects one, effects us all. I actually have to laugh at the extremism of the whole mindset. These folks group folks together to try and lend numbers to their just plain crazy theories that they can focus their own hate to. It's especially hilarious when someone pops up an insane theory and suddenly there are gaggles of left wing puds who jump on the bandwagon and they have no idea what it is they're actually saying. They just look so ridiculous.

I do not think that is gonna happen, not with those who are in office right now. We need everyday working men and women who know the value of a dollar and who have worked by the sweat of their brow. Those in office right now have a cushy life, they do not identify with me, nor I with them.

Because they're basically lawyers and politicians - public service all the way, no "real world" experience. So we had better get it across to them that they are to come to DC, do a couple of "tours" and head back home, because they sure aren't going to vote themselves term limits.

First off white male is a lump in itself because many black people will automatically assume your a racist; especially if you are from below the mason dixon line.
Then if I say i am a republican, they automatically assume I am a pro-life tea party nut.
If I tell a republican I am not for overturning Roe vs Wade and outlawing abortion, I am a liberal baby killer.
If i support the second amendment, I am a gun nut. But when i say some gun control is needed to keep them out of the hands of crazy or people not smart enough to pass a drivers test, then I am a liberal out to destroy the Right to bear arms. and etc.

IOW it's tuff being a moderate in a world of extremist.

Sometimes I say things and I KNOW that my reference was too broad, but I do try to be fair to all sides. So yes, I do feel insulted when someone has me all figured out because they read a sentence or two from me and consider my a CONSERVATIVE of all things! From that, they know my parentage, my IQ, my education, my age, height etc! It's amazing!!

Not so much. Every commercial on TV or radio, and every add on every billboard is aimed at some "group", some are just bigger than others. The most obvious panderers serve in public office, and why would I let myself feel insulted by the sleaze-ball, low-life, bottom feeders we have running this country.

I am a senior, but also a individual. Do not like to grouped as "Gray Panther" or whatever. Have a mind of my own to make my own decisions. Besides, the government can't even run itself, how in the hell does it intend to run our lives. Government couldn't even keep a whore house afloat.

What I find most insulting is that rather than fulfilling their legitimate obligations--like drafting a budget--our representatives attempt to whip up anger amongst the citizens and over total non-issues that are really none of their business to begin with.

They can't even fulfill their most basic job requirements and yet reps, in both parties, want to oversee my decisions. lol

Individual salvation......because Jesus never spoke about group salvation. He has his believers scattered throughout the different Christian denominations.
