Are you happy obama's green jobs are now only costing $135,294 per job since those from the stimulus cost $246,436 per job? What a deal (someone needs to tell him that all those solar panels are being built in Asia) ....

lol - when the dec job reports shows 85,000 loose jobs - obama throw 2.3 billion to his green communist friends.
I can't wait to see the ""$5 billion"" more thrown to greenies for "tens of thousands" of more 'green' jobs!
Say - just what is a "green" job anyway? - Does obama think they can't be outsourced to China?
If obama was serious about creating jobs he would deep-six the unions - like that will ever happen!

Obama's Green Jobs Program: $135,294 Per Job

By Sean Higgins Fri., Jan. 08, '10

The White House announced Friday the awarding of $2.3 billion in tax credits — the money comes from last year’s stimulus bill — to companies to create “green jobs.”

The announcement was rather obviously timed to counter the news that the nation lost 85,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate stayed at 10% — bad news for an administration that once promised to hold unemployment to 8% by the end of 2009.

So the administration sought to change the tune by talking about all those green jobs in the pipeline.

“Building a robust clean-energy sector is how we will create the jobs of the future — jobs that pay well and can’t be outsourced,” President Obama said Friday.

Yes, but getting these jobs is burning a hole in the national wallet. The problem is that even advocates like Obama concede that these programs are not very cost-effective in creating jobs.

Obama says the grants will create 17,000 cleantech jobs. Well, get out your calculator. $2.3 billion for 17,000 jobs equals $135,294 per job. (And that’s not including the eventual interest on this deficit spending). Those green jobs had better pay well over six figures to justify that expense.

Not to worry, the administration has a plan to solve this, too. It wants Congress to approve another $5 billion for “tens of thousands” more green jobs.

The incompetence of this administration never ceases to amaze me. Where does the money come from to generate these jobs....the taxpayers? These green energy technology is far from being able to compete with nuclear and fossil fuels, so not only as taxpayers we pay through the nose, our energy costs will rise as well.

Article said, "Green Jobs Program: $135,294 Per Job"

Man, that it cheap. There were seven caulking jobs under the "Cash for Clunkers"
program in Texas for $1.8 million at $250,000 per job, or worse yet, one of 0bama's donors made $1.8 million for caulking seven houses!

I wonder it that "Cash for Caulkers" was the brain-child of Van Jones, who thought
up the "Cash for Clunkers" program. Wait a minute, Czar Van Jones resigned from the
0bama administration. On the other hand he is working for the Apollo project at the Center for American Progress.............that organization supported by puppeteer,
    George Soros.

Aren't we lucky to have such creative people spending taxpayer billions.

They are paying for their pay increase in Congress by not giving Soc. Security recipients a COLA. If seniors don't get it, they shouldn't. Did you
know the most reliable voting block in midterm elections are seniors..
No COLA and $500 billion cut from medicare............bye, bye incumbents.

I wonder if these green jobs are located in the phony zip codes where our stimulus money is going.

LMAO! Probably ... probably to P.O. Boxes - I went to the recovery.gov site and within checking the first 20 zips I found $87 million going to a zip that was specific to one P.O. Box - Do towns have zip specific P.O. Boxes?

Not sure about that, sounds weird though.

    "Tracking Your Money

President Obama's so-called economic stimulus continues to be exposed as a total waste of your money. A group called the New Mexico Watchdog reports that hundreds of thousands of dollars spent under the White House stimulus plan were awarded to zip codes that don't exist!

The same group revealed last month that millions of dollars were awarded to nonexistent congressional districts in New Mexico.

That's comforting news. Isn't it amazing how the federal government is able to find new and creative ways to waste your money each and every day?"
