I would say no on the sole bases of them not doing anything. They do nothing when people are being slaughtered; close to 1 million Rwandans died in 1994 and the UN stood there and watch people get slaughtered. The same in Russia with Putin and so on. The UN has done nothing valuable; from my knowledge they have never stopped a war from occurring, never stopped people from being killed and the list goes on. I could be wrong; so if anyone knows an incident where the UN did stop the slaughtering of people, let me know.

The misconception the UN is an acronym for United Nations needs to stop. UN is an acronym for Useless Nations, much in the same way NATO is an acronym for No Action Talk Only.

The US needs to quit supporting both of these useless entities.

In the 50 years before the UN, the US was involved in multiple continents fighting wars (Spanish-American, WWI, WWII), since our actions have been in a single country (Korea, Viet Nam, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya). While the UN is corrupt, costly, goes sometimes against our interests, keeping conflicts local has been an undeniable benefit.

Since we are in essence the UN, we need to dump the other member nation and take care of our own business. Simply because the facts are as they are does not necessarily mean the UN is the root cause. We are by far the largest contributor of funds to the UN, but we allow others to control and manipulate it is a crock. We fund it we should control it. If not we should de-fund it permanently. Let the conflicts happen as they will and those involved handle them themselves.

Everyone says the US pays so much money to the UN, I would like to say what money? You're all in Obscure Financial Debt. All you do is borrow money and claim borrowed is legitimate? Then you expect the UN to use your worthless money? You might want to think about that. In fact the way things are going with US debt, you are going to need the UN to help you out.
