And I believe you're wrong. That's the problem with you guys... you assume that everyone pretty much agrees with you. Do you have any reason whatsoever to believe that aside from your DESIRE that it be true? Have you read of some poll that I haven't seen?
That says more about who you converse with.
"You must be very lonely?"
Nope. Very happy with my fiancee and friends.
"I have never talked personally to anyone who doesn't think the USA should get out of the UN."
Again, that's more of a statement on who you talk to. I, by way of comparison, have spoken with many people who think that having the UN in the US is a good thing. *shrug* Just goes to show you that anecdotal "evidence" is suspect.
"I now it's not scientific, but just look at this poll: 111 to get out, 16 to remain. Those results would be common throughout any poll on the UN."
No, it wouldn't. Because this site has a great many extreme right wingers on it. This site is NOT an accurate cross section of America.
Why do you say that? In order for that to be true, SodaHead would have to be an accurate cross-section of the American people and it's not.
"I just don't hang with the hollywood elite or the liberal educators who dominate education."
And that's why you think that the ratio of people who believe as you do is so high. You completely dismiss a huge portion of the country. There are plenty Liberals and Moderates who don't agree with you.
You really want this to go to insulting each other? I can oblige you, but it's counterproductive.
Liberals account for about 1/5 of the American population. Moderates about 2/5. Not that every one of them supports the UN, of course, but there are still going to be plenty of them. Certainly enough to give the lie to the idea that the vast majority of Americans want the UN to leave our shores.
All I'm claiming is that hatred for, and desire for the eviction of, the UN is FAR from universal or even all that widespread.
I concede that opinion of how well the UN is doing their job is low. It doesn't necessarily follow, however, that they want the UN gone from US shores.
They've outlived their usefulness. Kick them out!
