Are you for or against "gun control" and Why?

You musr remember that hunting was not the main reason the second amendment was included in the constitution.

The main reason for the second amendment was because an armed population is the best deterant to an arbitary government or dictatorship.

As to owning machine guns, fully automatic weapons, have been outlawed in this country for several decades, and they can only be owned by thise holding a class 3 license issued by the BATF, and they come with many restrictions.

Recently the owner of an apartment building with a concealed carry permit was attacked by thugs carrying a TEC-9 STOLEN from their local police. Fortunately the criminal never actually fired the fully loaded automatic weapon before the would-be victim perforated both perps twice each. The police said he was perfectly within his rights to kill the perps. But he was LUCKY to be able to take down a man with a weapon that only the police can legally carry. HONEST CITIZENS SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST AS MUCH FIREPOWER AS THE CRIMINALS THEY MUST FACE.

The 2nd amendment states we have the right--it is the law!

The problem with gun control is that the Liberal whiners wouldn't leave it at common sense regulations. Once those bastards get their camel noses under the tent, they won't be happy until the tent is brought down around us and our guns, as we can see in their behavior, as they constantly clamor for more and more laws regarding the 2nd Amendment. We have plenty of gun regs already, but still they push for more.

I'm for reasonable gun laws; like, if you commit a violent crime with your gun, you shouldn't be trusted with one again.

I worked as a gun saleman in CA and it has a good blend of letting law abiding citizens get a firearm but the criminal would have a harder time. Ultimately its the sales staff at any store who has to answer to crimes and audits of inspectors. I've turned down as many people as I've sold to. The problem is divining a person's intent. You have no idea what the legal citizen intends to do with it but your 6th sense gets developed and you can tell something's 'just not right'. Sometimes its a biker- looking dude trying to tell you his conviction is not really a 'serious felony'. Sometimes its a cute 20 something girl in tight jeans that should not get the firearm either. Sometimes its a older looking guy who's been around firearms all his life and sometimes it a 20 something on motorcycle with more money than god entitled to a weapon of his choice.

Law abiding citizens do not need to have more gun control laws. People who break the law with a gun need to be punished harsher.

I am for reasonable gun control but strongly favor the right to bear arms as defined under the Constitution.

I'm a gun owner. I know how to use them. i'm not afraid to use them.When i lived in South Carolina i could carry. I kept a 9mm Glock in my truck holsterted to the consol. And i carried a.380 Walther PPK. I have 7 hand guns all registered. I live in NJ and you can't carry here...but guess what i'm still carrying.And that I won't stop !

Beware of any politician who refers to "sportsmen's rights" when asked his/her position on the Second Amendment! Always remember, sportsmens rights have NOTHING to do with the original intent of the Second Amendment!

Gun control only hurts the honest person. Criminals don't give a damn about the law and gun grabbers are too stupid to understand this.

Second Admendment is the only reason needed, With out the ability to defend ones self you are not a citizen , you are a subject...And it protects the rest of the Constitution, from liberal socialist dumocrats.

The only thing legislation controlling guns will do is hinder law abiding citizens from protecting themselves and their families. The criminal element would hardly be affected by new laws that they would just ignore while being emboldened by the fact that their prey were unarmed. Screaming about gun control is nothing but political rhetoric to distract us while wasting BILLIONS of our tax dollars in the black hole called the Justice Department.
The surest way I know to ignite the wildfire of Revolution in this nation is to begin dismantling our Constitution by passing laws to appease the liberal socialist minority in this country, when that happens make sure your ammo is handy and you've stockpiled lots of food.

2nd Amendment, enough said. I don't own any firearms myself, but I have no problem with anyone else owning or lawfully using them.

The only thing govt controlled gun control actually controls are honest people. I'm fine with the cooling off period, but my answer will always be the same if asked if I have a gun. None of your business.

no matter if you make laws against it the criminal element will still acquire weapons. police take time to get to you and usually by then it is to late they can only arrest the suspect. so i rather have a armed citizen protect themselves

I have no clue how the 2nd amendment says the right of the people to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED, unless it is an automatic rifle, unless you are transporting it within reach of the driver, unless you do not have a reason to carry, unless you do not have a license, unless you do not have a gunsafe or trigger lock, unless it is not registered with local authorities... I guess "infringment" has a different definition...

Im against:!! Im for people having the ability to protect themselves and their families. Im for The Constitution and the 2nd amendment to that document. Im for the victims and against the criminals. Im for creating fear in the heart of the criminal , not knowing if he will be shot in the leg or the stomache. Im for the family of the criminal paying all cost of his or hers imprisonment. Im for every law abiding citizen having a weapon and being trained in how to use that weapon and be proficient. Im for having criminals being judged by God as soon as possible and let him sort it out with them.
