Because I happen to like the Constitution and Bill of Rights, I know that is unfashionable to many these days.

Gun Control was originally supposed to keep guns out of the hands of Blacks. It is an important tool of Authoritarians to restrict our freedom and our ability to protect our rights. The 2nd Amendment is not about the right to hunt or even to defend against criminals. It's about protecting our rights FROM GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRATS. Even gun REGISTRATION is a bad idea.

The ONLY good 'gun control' is the ability to hit what you're aiming at EVERY TIME.

I was under the impression that this country was started with the right to own a gun written in. The laws that are being suggested and have been put to use are weakening the honest and hard working people of this country.

For, but not in the way that most would think about it. When I think Control, I believe that the control should be in the form of the STRICTEST use of the laws already in place. Currently, it is so easy to get weapons on the street, 20 bucks will get you an old 38 revolver. Why? Because it is very easy to steal a gun, or have someone without a criminal conviction to buy one for you. An easy solution to this would be, if someone is found to be purchasing (straw purchase) weapons for someone else with a record, they should be sent to jail for the remainder of their lives. No and's , if's, or but's

We have enough State and Federal Gun Control Laws enforce the laws on the books.
If you remove the guns crooks will all ways have the means and the money to get a gun, then how will you protect yourself from them.
As far the Stand Your Ground Law, theres nothing wrong with the law and Florida should leave the law as it is. And the people that don't live in Florida should stay out of the business in Florida you should have enough to do in your state instead of sticking your nose in other states business.
Am a former Marine, Deputy Sheriff, Private Investgator, and I presently have a Federal Firearms Lic., to buy ,sell, trade, etc. in firearms.

SO WE HAVE ENOUGH OF GUN CONTROL LAWS ON THE BOOKS. OBAMA and GUN CONTROL

I own shotguns, rifle and pistols, I don't feel the need nor do I think anyone else should own machine gun. I know there will be anti-gun people who will rail me for this, but I believe in limits of ownership with certain weapons. It's not easy to draw the line nor is it easy to keep the line, but I feel it is everyone's best interest to do so. I have taken too much crap from those who want to give a hard time and not debate on this one before so I'm done on this one.

A civilian can only own a machine gun, a fully automatic weapon, if they hold a class 3 license isued by the BATF, and there are many restrictions placed upon the holder of a class 3 license.

Also, if I am not mistaken, there was only one or two firearm crimes ever committed by the legal owner of a fully automatic weapon.

The problem is the idea of "the line" you spoke of. The sad reality is that gun control advocates don't have a fixed line. Their ultimate goal is to eliminate private ownership of ALL guns, without exception. Therefore, the only way to prevent them from accomplish that heinous goal is to oppose all gun control laws. Only then will "the line" stay somewhere close to a reasonable point.

Although those gangbangers that are killing each other will get guns by stealing them or in the back alley. In that case Gun Control is not the issue nor the reason they have guns..Actually the more of themselves they kill the less the decent citizen has to worry about.l

I do not believe in GUN contol at all. 28,500 gun laws on the books and the only people affected are the Legal law abiding Owners that have to jump through hoops for their right to defend themselves from those gang freaks.
The only rule for owning guns should be that the owner has been educated in firearms care, safety, and be proficient with one... ...

Guns don't kill... people do. You will only change violence, by changing the hearts of people. Also...when you take the guns away, people will not be able to defend themselves.

I believe in property rights. The real estate is protected from law, and when 'Res Publika' law fails it falls back on it's predecessory law, cave man law: I am man, this is club, club is law. The club has been innovatived from club to spear to arrow to sword to firearm. I believe that gun control means hitting your intended target. To pull from trigger without aim is intellectual sloth. I also believe that the controls of the firearm belong with the citizen.

The constitution is very clear on it. VERY clear. It shall not be infringed upon. Oh, but it has been. All the laws around guns practically makes them useless. We were given the right to bear arms to control our government. Let's see people try and do that nowdays.

In cases of self defense, you are very limited. You have to really prove it was self defense and often times you will have to defend yourself in court. You can wind up like Zimmerman.

I have a right to defend myself using a gun.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." ... I guess somewhere along the line, some Marxist (inc. all cryptic pseudonyms thereof) must have discovered an invisible "unless" in there somewhere and somehow, to explain all of the many and INFRINGING limitations that have since restricted or outright banned many and varying 'arms' on not even just some types of firearms, but knives and you get the point ('arms' is all-inclusive pertaining to WEAPONRY, not just limited to firearms)... right??? Riiiiiiiiggggggghhhhttttt...

You only have to read some of the stuff on SodaHead to know there are just too many nut cases out there and I don't want them all to own a gun. I have no trouble with hunting equipment and rifles. I can see the need for some people to be armed but machine guns and the like are not for public use surely. The arms and gun manufacturers must spend a fortune funding the NRA.

The problem is defining the 'threat'. What is dangerous to you, makes perfect sense to me. I've seen what a slippery slope it is to try satisfy two people of differing views because the winner is always the criminal who doesn't give d*mn what the law says.
