This is the last comment i will post on this subject you cannot force your ideals on me by making a ludicrous statement as the one above or any other statement that will change my opinion so save yourself the trouble Stating that homosexuality is found in the animal kingdom and then to follow this with, it is found throughout "all" life on earth is not only ludicrous it most certainly is NOT and even if this were so, we are speaking about human beings men with men, women with women, and in my opinion this type of union is UNNATURAL period.

Listen, i don't care who you marry my disapproval should mean nothing to you. i have my beliefs and my opinions and i will stand by them.

Believe me i wouldn't engage in those sorts of things and as far as trying to "stop" you from what you believe in, it's your life and i couldn't care less about what you do with it.

because whoever is happy should be happy same sex couples deserve the same priviledges as straight couples do

maybe the definition of gay was changed because homosexuals were much happier than heterosexuality. IIIIII woooonder.

"Gay Marriage" doesn't really accomplish anything. God made Man and Woman, and intended them to be together for two main reasons. 1) to Procreate, as in , a MAN and a WOMAN are the ONLY way to produce children, and in the very first book of the Bible He said Go Forth and Multiply. Adam and Steve can't do that, nor can Liz and Lez, so that is a big one. Plus, God also said, I have created Woman as a companion for Man, so I'd say that his plan was for Humanity....for men and women to be together, and He was the one who sanctified the union as his desire.

I am gay and have children. What do we do with people like me and my children? You are talking about a religious marriage while the rest of the educated world is talking about civil marriage. Should the government treat same sex families different from hetro marriage, that's the question.

Gay or hetero is not the issue. Definition and purpose of marriage is.

From a civil point of view the purpose is to recognize legally what is a family. From a religious point of view, who knows? There are so many religions.

I think everyone deserves to experience love regardless of their gender and if getting married is what you believe solidifies it, then go for it.

Gays can get married already and solidify their relationship, that's not the issue. Gays want to have the same protection that all hetro families have. To me this is especially critical because I have children.

Why do you consider it critical?

Because children are more sensitive to discrimination. And since society is not completely accepting of our family I think it is especially critical that the government accepts us as a family.

We are legally parents of our children in the state of California. Most other states in the union don't recognize us as a family. If our children fall sick on vacation in Florida, we as parents are very likely not allowed visitation rights at the hospital. Same goes if my partner takes the children on vacation in Arizona and passes away. The state of Arizona doesn't recognize me as a parent and will not allow me to get my child back (probably have to go though courts). So it is HIGHLY critical that the federal government recognize us as a family.

I see. I still believe you have the right to marry whoever you love, gender be damned. I didn't necessarily mean marriage is the only way to show your love for each other if that's what you're getting at. I agree with you that gays are treated as second class citizens in some states and that should change.

Love is Love, regardless of gender

No, not equal. Marriage and civil union are not the same thing. My "wife" is my civil partner. I see no reason why two men or two women can not enter into a civil union such as i and mine have.

Does it matter what you call it? If the law for domestic couples is the same for married couples, then who cares what it is called?

See, "marriage" under the government isn't marriage. Marriage is a religious covenant between a man, a woman and their respective gods.

Because it is their choice, just like it was my choice to get married. Their gender makes no difference.
