Are you, by law, required to sign up for obamacare? If so, are you going to or have you already?

And I'm not paying my taxes either. I'm tired of the complete lack of respect the Fed shows my hard earned cash. Figure the dollar is going to tank before they force me to pay so best spent on food and bullets!!

Everyone will have insurance soon. If you work at Walmart and they cut your hours back to part time, the taxpayers will pay subsidies to make sure you're covered. No one will be discriminated against due to pre-existing conditions, and being a woman will not cost you more. Those of you on Medicare and against this have giant balls. My insurance premium is going down, and I will have much better coverage. I am very happy!!!!

Untrue. Part time employees at Walmart get medical and optical. Just not dental. They also have 401K plans and a stock option. My neighbor works for the WM Neighborhood market!

Well, my friend works there, too....and she had her hours cut back from 30 to 28, so they wouldn't have to pay healthcare. Less income does not make healthcare easier to purchase, unless there is corporate welfare. The taxpayers will have to pay for what Walmart should....they have no morals.

Huh that's weird my neighbors hours have actually increased a bit even though she is still considered part time. I just asked her about it. Walmart is NOT cutting hours to not comply with obamacare. If the store is busy and has high sales they do not cut back but rather increase hours. Maybe your friend should seek a Full time position when one is available.

ObamaCare is eliminating the health insurance I get through my employer (70% of which I pay for) as of December 21. It wasn't great but it was a nice little plan for part-time professors from through my private university (my state college gives us nothing at all) that covered 5 office visits a year and had three diagnostic pools, some eye and dental discounts, and a little surgical coverage. It wasn't very expensive either, which is good because with three part-time jobs I don't make that much, but now I will have nothing.
  • Mickey V AdmrlLocke 2013/10/27 21:33:11

Then you will qualify for a subsidy....don't cry -- you'll come out better. Just take a moment from your busy day, and LOOK at the Marketplace or CALL. Besides that, Obamacare isn't taking anything away from you, your employers or insurance companies are (if that is happening at all -- wink, wink).

It's good to see that liberals don't care that Obama flat-out lied and that ObamaCare is just an excuse to get all us all hooked on welfare. Die, liberal scumbag.

No you don't have to if you have insurance or get insurance on your own. But the rest of the people can get on the exchanges which is Obamacare. If you don't get insurance then you have to pay a tax. So no you you are not required to sign up for Obamacare!!

If we Americans had a full understanding of what "type" of law this is, no one would "sign" up. Anything that requires a "signature" is administrative, commercial or contract law and has no basis whatsoever in regards to the so-called Supreme Court decision. We have all come under the "commercial" law since 1938 because of FDR's socialization by numbering us. It is interesting to note that about the same time, all the Jews were numbered in Europe, hmm... and they were "railroaded" to wherever they were needed, or not needed, which is somewhat parallel to ObamaCare in regards to the result is going to be rationed care, waiting in line, dropping dead before you even get to see a doctor about your symptoms, especially if you are not a registered democrat or over 70 years of age.

Do you remember when certain people thought Medicare and Social Security was Socialism? You're damn right you're lucky. No one begrudges you; why do you think others should go without?

Social Security was me paying into my own reitrement. Had I been ableto manage my own SS money I would be getting a lot more than what I now get. That was not Socialism. Mediicare is forced on me. I didn't ask for it, so it is socialism even though I paid for it a long time before I ever used it..

I was one of the fortunate ones that was able to get on the site and look at the rates and there is no way I would pay that much for the crappy insurance their offering. catastrophic which is the least amount that is offered is still $100.00 more than what I pay through work. And as far as your employer contributing that's a load of crap. Employers DO NOT have to contribute if they are providing insurance. We did all receive letters though stating that our rates may be affected based on our providers new premiums going into effect January 1st, 2014. Thanks obamacare and government for screwing us some more so we can pay for everyone else!!!!

But if I was required I would not, and would go to Court before I would pay a fine for not doing so.
That's the catch with the Supreme Court's decision on the Individual Mandate. They ruled it was only Constitutional as a Tax, and I believe a case could be made for it being an unfair tax.

EVERYONE by law has to have ObamaCare or an ObamaCare approved plan. Mine is, so I do not have to make any changes. The ObamaCare equivalent to my $534/month plan would cost $984.28/month...about a 95% premium increase.
  • Mickey V Luca 2013/10/28 21:38:20
    Mickey V
So, who is paying the balance of your premium? I am self employed and fully aware of what insurance costs. Why do some people think Obamacare is responsible for insurance companies raising their rates. It is the insurance company's choice. However; they are only allowed to make so much PROFIT on your healthcare. Absurd.
  • White P... Mickey V 2013/10/28 21:44:40

Because they are forcing insurance companies to provide services most of us don't need. Are you really that unaware?
  • Luca Mickey V 2013/10/28 21:54:38

I don't have to get ObamaCare because my Kaiser plan is grandfathered in as acceptable. My post was "if I had to" what my rates would be. And as White below me says...everyone's costs are going to go up because now they are required to have so much more. Even if male, you are going to have to have maternity (as an example). So I really fail to understand what point you are trying to make here...
