I WAS BORN AGAIN IN 1983. I HAD VISITED A CHURCH WITH MY MOM AND 2 DAYS LATER THIS CHURCH VISITED ME. I ACCEPTED JESUS CHRIST AS MY SAVIOR THAT NIGHT IN MY LIVING ROOM AND WAS REBORN..NEVER BEEN THE SAME. I HAD BEEN AN ALCOHOLIC AND DRUG ADDICT FOR 14 YRS. AND THIS EXPERIENCE WAS THE GREATEST HIGH I HAD EVER EXPERIENCED. I HAVE NEVER REGRETED COMING TO THE LORD ONLY THAT I DIDN'T COME TO HIM SOONER. SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH US. WE ARE OVERCOMERS BY THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY AND THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB.

I had been going to church all my life but wasn't saved. It was kinda like I went because mom & dad made me go but I knew the Word (bible) and I prayed a lot. The Lord sent a man into my life at the age of 16 (who's now my husband) and he witnessed to me about getting saved during our courtship. He was raised in the Apostolic/Pentecostal church but I was raised in a different church of which I won't call the name of the denomination. Anyway he led me to the scriptures and showed me about repenting of my sins and asking for God's forgiveness. Then he explained that I needed to be baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ and to be filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit give the utterance. Well, one Sunday morning I came up to be baptized in Jesus' name and the pastor and deacons and ushers let me change clothes and I got baptized right away but they told me to keep praying and keep coming to church because God was going to fill me with the Holy Ghost. I didn't wait to receive it at the church because I had the faith that God could reach me right there where ever I called on him at. So one morning I took my husband to work and went back home to pray in my living room. I began to call on the name of Jesus and praise him in my ow...&

I shouted all over our 1 bedroom apartment and kept speaking in tongues. I took my testimony back to the church and let them know that God had already filled me at home and I was now in the family of God and we all rejoiced. That has been over 10 years ago and I still speak in tongues and I praise God for the experience as well as cleansing me from my sins on a constant and daily basis. I would like to address the 75% who answered YES, who consider themselves “born again.”

No doubt that each one of you believes in God and has established a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Praise God for that! It was Jesus who told us that “you must be born again in order to see and enter the kingdom of God.” This was not just a casual recommendation; no, it was a command that we ought to follow as any other commandment from God.

However, the term “born again” can be used both, as a general statement, or as a specific, theological statement. When used as a general statement it simply expresses that conversion has taken place and a belief and relationship has been established with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and with the Savior Jesus the Christ.

When used as a theological statement we must consider the words of Jesus when He said: “That which is BORN of the flesh is flesh, and that which is BORN of the Spirit is spirit.” I do not want to be presumptuous, but I dare say each one of you is flesh and not spirit. Therefore, none of you can (already) be “born again” and we must look for another explanation. The answer is that one must be first BEGOTTEN before one can be BORN. On the physical level there is a time interval of nine month between being BEGOTTEN by our father and being BORN of our mother. On the spiritual level there is a time interval of whatever balance of life we have between conversion and death. It is our resurrection from the dead that constitutes our new birth. Not until the resurrection will we be BORN AGAIN!

If we all have the same understanding then there is no problem to answer YES I am born again. However, if we do not have the same understanding, or want to be technically correct, then we should say that we are (only) BEGOTTEN children of God that will become BORN (AGAIN) children of God in the future, in the first, the better resurrection.

    No, probably not.

Here's the deal with me and 'God', I can't believe in him if he doesn't show me he wants me to. Whether it's flying down from the sky or speaking to me through a tree. It's not that I don't want to believe he exists, it's just that I can't. I am mentally and physically incapable of believing in something I can't see or hear or make contact with. I can't. I just can't. I want him to meet me halfway. Not the other way around. I'm the kind of person that needs to be beaten into submission. So until then.

Hmmm..there are many things that are not visible but I am sure you believe..we breath air but you can't see the air..in the winter you see ice crystals as you exhale..but not the air...the Lord is able to cause you to believe..just tell Him if Your real than show me..it won't be how you expect Him to but He can show you He is real..I am sure ..I know Him and He can do all things..may God open your eyes and your heart to His presence.

I ask him constantly. I do. And so far I've gotten a bad response or none at all.

Me and my twin were saved on the same night. We were eight years old. She got saved at church in the preacher's office, I got saved once we got home and I found solitude in my bedroom. It felt so wonderful to be free from all my sins. I am also a gay christian, but God loves all his children. So I am no exception.

I was given the book "satan is alive and well on planet earth" and it scared the hell out of me.
I believe in the entire bible. If I disagree with it, its my fault not the bible's.
I believe that for all those who believe in Him, for all those that receive Him, God gave the right to become children of God. No other way.
If God says something is wrong, then its wrong.
I love God and I am in His word everyday. I go to church because that's what He wants.
He is my all in all.

I was an alcoholic adulterer who went to nightclubs (while married) and watched porn regularly. New sexual encounters with strange women was exciting for me. I had an affair on my first marriage and mutually promiscuous "open" marriage with my second wife. During these years, I was pshyically and mentally addicted to ephedrine (I took 45 pills each day, enough to cause your heart to explode).
When I met my current wife (a Christian), I was still set in my ways and habits (personal strongholds that 99% of people deny). I went to church with her, but just so she wouldn't lay guilt on me. Then, the Army sent me to Korea.
Soldiers (including married Soldiers) who go to their 1 year tour in Korea, normally cheat on their spouses. I promised my wife 3 things: I would not betray her there, I would try to watch my drinking, and I would go to church every Sunday. My roommate was a Christian guy, happily married, and we became friends. Christians would know that God placed him as my roommate. Everyone else would say it was a "coincidence".

One night, feeling sorry for myself, I got drunk in my room instead of going downtown (as many Soldiers do) to be with Russian drinky girls (whores). My friend and roommate was not there as he had to drive that night.
I awoke on the cold floor in a puddle of my own alcoholic vomit, when I awoke to a voice asking "What are you doing?" I thought someone was in the room, when I stood up in a stupor, covered in my vomit. I went to the mirror in the bathroom and I heard the voice again. I looked into my eyes to see the stranger and realized I needed the Lord.
The next day, I emailed my wife back in the states, about my secrets and disgusting behavior from the past. She was devastated, cried, and demanded to know why I would say these things. I had to explain to her that that person (my old self) was dead, crucified on Calvary by the blood of the Holy Son of God - Jesus Christ. That was in November 2001.
I have been a Christian ever since, instead of a church-goer. I'm still not perfect and I sin, but the Lord saved me from death, physical and spiritual blindness, health problems, alcoholism, and ephedrine addiction. Satan still tries to bring me back to my former ways with his evil strategies, but the Lord is my light! I have served Him and will continue to serve Him until I die or am raptured. Praise God!

No, I have not been "born again," and I don't intend to be at any point in the future. I don't wanna sound too cynical, but I think some branches of religion equate roughly to brainwashing. I don't /believe/ in God but I'm not against religion if it can help you improve yourself; if it "changes your life" and gets you off drugs or whatever, that can't be a bad thing.
It's wonderful, honestly, but I think you're deluded. Thanks!

Sorry to hear I'm deluded...I am not though..I have experienced much in my life of 50 years and searched out many paths..and God found me..I was just looking for the answers and He provided them...I have been following Him for 24 years now with no regrets..I am a college graduated wife of 34 years and mother of 4 (3 of which have passed away), grandmother of two and sister of 9...cousin to over 300..so I have a very diverse life which tends to keep a person from being too easily deluded..if you didn't know it ..children tend to keep a person honest so to speak..they call you on everything..and I also have been a working woman since I was 13..working in the fields as a child and so on before I received my degree.....so only ignorant secluded people usually can be deluded.

I'll never lose faith... even though I am confused as I am bi but I put God first so if he ever tells me anything about my sexuality then I guess I'll change for him >_

I believe that I completely turned to God around in April of 07!
I broke up with my non-christian boyfriend, I turned from my sins and completly put my faith in Christ!

Before I didn't understand why the bible said no sex before marriage, now I understand. I thank God though for my past relationship I had with my non-christian boyfriend cause I learned a lot!

God has revealed himself to me so many times since!
He's SO amazing and SO real!!!

Now I'm more outgoing, I have more friends and a lot more free!
Oh and that's why my username is Jebeca! Cause my name's Rebeca so instead I put J instead of R because of Jesus and cause this guy I like's name starts with a J! lol Praise God huh?!

And it's SO sad how my friend now who is my ex, still doesn't know/have Jesus! I tell him about God all the time and he's really self-rightous! There's a ton of things he doesn't understand about Jesus! Like he doesn't believe there's a difference if you repent from your sins!
And I broke up with him cause he doesn't believe in God the way I do and cause he was basacily making me turn from my family, to be with him!

Anyways, I have a testemony of how God changed my life, how it used to be and what he's doing right now! So many people need Jesus, if only they knew what He can do= [

It's not Satanic...it is more the undercurrents of the earth...nature! I am not a total Satanist, Buhdist, Christian or anything else...I simply acknowledge there are some forms of powers on earth that control things! Things like Biorhythms I believe in...kinda a neat thing...it goes off of the stars (I think) and it tells you where in a cycle you are based on when you were born...tells you the days you will be up and really happy, and the days your energy will be low! I think part of it might be psychological where you read it and say "I have low energy today" and that's the kind of day you have, but I also think there is some truth in the under currents that run earth!

I became a believer at a young age and was baptized at 14, however, I really didn't grow as a Christian untill 1991 when I really gave my heart to God. I asked Him to take over my life and show me what He wanted me to do. He showed me I should study His word and get to know Him on a personal level. When I gave every part of my Life to Him, I became a changed person. I didn't want to live my old life anymore. The desires of my heart changed and He gave me such peace I cannot explain. Now I live my life as a "Thank You" to Him for what He has done for me. He continues to give me peace and joy. I don't worry about things like I used to. If Jesus died on the cross for me, the least I can do is serve Him.

Webster definition of epiphany:. 3 a (1) : a usually sudden manifestation or perception of the essential nature or meaning of something (2) : an intuitive grasp of reality through something (as an event) usually simple and striking (3) : an illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure b : a revealing scene or moment.

you can't just have a relationship w/ God...It says in the bible that the only way that you can have a relationship w/ him is through his son Jesus Christ. yes i am concerned about your soul Jesus could return this very instant do you know if you would be taken w/ him and the rest of the body of Christ or would you be left behind? if you have never asked Jesus in your heart you would be left behind...how could you not accept a gift that God has given I mean come on he gave his own son to us it's plain as day!!! I love Jesus more than anything and I want to reach as many souls as i can before he returns...I love people soo much i wouldn't want you to go to hell because you didn't believe...but if you do get left behind there is still one more chance for you Jesus will return again and take those people w/ Him to heaven...but i am warning you that if you wait till then to do so there will be soo many bad things that will happen to earth...there will be a major earthquake and one-third will be killed off because of it, then there will be the stars falling down to earth that will kill off another third and there will be darkness as well that is only a couple of things that will happen...

Oh my word this is an opinion poll not a conversion poll. This apocalyptic language that you are spewing is the reason so many people turned away from the church in the first place. Jesus taught his message through love not threats. I am saved. Jesus saved me. This is like talking to a wall. Read my posts. It is clear you have not read them. It is also clear that you read only the portions of the bible that support your narrow view of christianity. Jesus died to save us all from sin, not just the chosen few that believe as you do. He loves and welcomes all of his children into the kingdom of heaven. I dont think there is any indication in any of my posts that I am not a believer, quite the opposite. My suggestion to you is to save yourself. You cant live your life in fear, live iy in love. Jesus' was a humble man. a teacher of Gods word. He did not feel it neccesary to draw attention to his deeds in fact he asks us all to do good without recognition. In the gospel that surrounds Ash Wednesday you will read how he does not want us to boast of how faithful we are. Just be faithful, do god's word and ask nothing in return. That also means we need not be recognized for our goodness. Jesus knows the good you do and when you do good for others you are lending to god. You dont need to make yourself known as a person who saves others, you can be humble.

yeah but you never answered my question did you ever ask Jesus into your heart?!? and actually you said that you arn't born again when you first posted so what is it yes or no? so it looks like I caught you there... you have not been able to say yes or no, cause you said that you are not a christian and that is what a christian is, is someone that askes Jesus to forgive them for their sins...and no it's like talking to a wall w/ you I know what I am talking about I read God's word every single day and I know how a person can be saved..I was just trying to help you not hurt you sorry if I made you mad...I am just doing what the Lord commanded me to do ...i'm not threatening you by any means i'm telling you the facts...i don't fear anything except for God...I know that He will judge everyone in the end...Jesus was God in the flesh when He was on the earth...do you think that your good deeds will get you into heaven? Umm God said to go into all the world and preach the gospel so that is what I am doing i'm not trying to get God's attention by helping Him do what He said that I should do. I don't need to save myself Jesus has already done that for me, and no people don't turn away from the church because of what i am saying they turn away because their hearts are hardened just lik...

My answer was I am not a born again christian. But I did have a born again experience ( epiphany) what is it that my posts dont define? Sometimes Born again defines a religion. I am a catholic so my answer was sufficient for your question. I am not going to redefine my beliefs based on yours. Go back and read all of my posts and you will see what I am saying. I have answered your question I HAD AN EPIPHANY. THAT IS THE SAME THING. I too spread gods love. Through my deeds, I do not need to convince people that my way is the only way to gain god's favor. I have a unique opportunity that I have been given. The world has been very good to me and I am intent on sharing my good fortune with those who have not found thier way. Children who have been forgotten. I dont need you to soften my heart, unfortunately, you do not know me, so you would not have any idea how faithful I am. Those who know me do though and God knows. I do not need to convince anyone else. I do think what you are doing is good, but there is definitely a more subtle way to save someone. A hard and fast approach is not always the most successful. Some may turn away from you and God. I run a not for profit organization that helps children get thier needs met. Through my deeds I spread God's love. When they get to know me I share with them what drives me. I telll them about my relationship with Jesus and how he helps me in my life. How his love guides my life, how his love inspires me.

YOU SEEM TO BE UPSET THAT WE QUESTIONED YOUR STATEMENT..YOU ARE CATHOLIC ..WELL THIS EXACT WORDING ..ARE YOU SAVED IS FOUND IN YOUR BIBLE..THIS ISN'T A RELIGION..IT IS A BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE DUE TO ASKING CHRIST INTO YOUR HEART AND REPENTING OF YOUR SINS..EVERYONE IS NOT GOD'S CHILD JUST BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY ARE..IT IS ONLY BY APPLYING THE BLOOD OF CHRIST FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS THAT YOU ENTER IN AS A CHILD OF GOD. THE DEVIL HAS HAD EXPERIENCES WITH GOD..HE ISN'T A CHILD OF GOD..HE BELIEVES IN GOD BUT HE HAS NEVER ACCEPTED CHRIST..THAT IS THE POINT HERE.
