After four years the building industry still sucks. I have had to take four pay cuts that have reduced my salary by 42% from what it was in 08'. I can't move because my house is worth less then half of what it was in 07' but yet my property taxes have increased. I drive a seven year old car because if I could afford a new one the prospect of having an additional monthly payment scares the hell out of me. Every time I turn around my employer supplied health insurance goes up and the co-pays increase.
So to answer the question, No I am not better off four years later.
Hate to say yes because conservatives call me a lier but yes I am only for the simple fact all my kids are back to work . Not great jobs mind you but still they can hold their own now staying out of my pocket .
