It seems the birther issue is moving to the forefront again and President Obama himself is trying to put it there. So let's address a few things.

The first thing here is that President Obama did not start the birther movement... the people running his website did. They used a scanner to post his COLB not realizing or apparently even considering it obviously did not show the seal validating it. When people voiced their suspicions about the seal and this in turn led to other questions about almost everything on that document... all the people running his website had to do was remove it, apologize because they made a mistake and hire someone for a few bucks who knows what they are doing to post a photo correctly when it was learned scanners wouldn't do the job.

Suspicions were what this issue is all about. How powerful are suspicions?

Adolf Hitler died at the end of WWII by his own hand. I and most people in the world knew he was dead but there was no body which leaves the possibility he escaped because you can't prove he didn't... thus, you know for a fact he killed himself but you are also suspicious he could have escaped. That's not a contradiction as one can know a truth and still have suspicions because you don't have all the facts leaving open the possibility there's more yet to be known. The Russians then produce a skull fragment and other evidence in the late 80's early 90's they say was proven to be Hitlers and that was enough to kill almost all the suspicions and conspiracy theories... finally, the monster was dead and we had what we needed to answer our suspicions. Then last year, we learn that the skull fragment came from a woman and the other evidence disappeared so now the suspicions are resurfacing and the old conspiracies.

Suspicion is often the greatest tool investigators have which often they sum up as instinct when it's really just trained responses or having a suspicious mind. Anyone who's ever had a domestic issue understands suspicion as a woman suspicious her husband is cheating on her can be proven right or wrong and not know for a fact it's true until her suspicions are confirmed... and even then she can still be wrong which has led to numerous broken relationships and even murder when no adultery had taken place at all.

It's because of this that psychiatrists and psychologists understand how important it is to be careful when people are suspicious because your actions can actually turn false suspicions into truth in a suspicious mind and there's nothing wrong with the person who is suspicious.

Likewise, lawyers understand this which is why they try to plant suspicions in a jury's mind to convict or find their client not guilty regardless of facts or truth. Lawyers will also tell you that they can have all the evidence in the world to prove their client innocent and the prosecution has no proof of guilt... yet a sloppy presentation of the evidence actually convicts their client because the jury is suspicious and you did not effectively address those suspicions.

In this case, Obama's website manager responded with a Fight The Smear campaign attacking people with suspicions of being racists and haters because they were equally suspicious that's what this issue was about based solely on the fact most of the people raising issues about the missing seal seemed to be white and Obama was black... a judgement made based on skin color alone to feed their suspicions of racism which they proved when they attacked people who then claimed they were black and Obama's supporters apologized because obviously these people couldn't be racists and haters... on the internet, we are all the same skin color because we are who we say we are and the person you are speaking to claiming to be black could be white for all you know so apologizing for or accusing someone of anything based on what race you think they are has no meaning except how it portrays you... not them.

So the issue got out of hand and someone finally realized the damage the Fight The Smear campaign was doing and ripped down the site pages trying to conceal they existed. Then Factcheck.com got involved when people were beginning to cry out to see the hospital birth records because they had become enraged by the name calling and when the cute word birther was coined because Obama's supporters were forced to back down time after time for making false accusations of racism and hate... that made these people even angrier.

The term birther only means someone who believes Obama was not born in Hawaii or that he's not a US citizen... it is supposed to have no other meaning than that which is false. The term birther is a childish response like calling someone a doodyhead on a playground instead of the more insulting shithead the kid hears their parents or someone else say. In this case, birther took the place of calling someone a racist and a hater mixed with the open face meaning of labeling someone because they don't believe Obama was born in Hawaii. Often, however, the game would be revealed because the anti birthers would call people racists, haters and birthers all in the same sentence.

Mind you, birthers never called themselves by this name, it's a label applied to them which some accepted only because they were defiant much like a black man called a ni**er by a white man would act accepting the name not caring what it meant because they are damned to bear it no matter what. There were no campaigns to create birther meetings and so on nor ever any leaders... just a few people filing lawsuits about Obama's birth certificate that got labeled birthers as well.

Something strange happened after Obama was elected as all along the anti birthers believed that the birthers just wanted to stop Obama from being elected yet after he was elected, the birther movement exploded. Had it been about preventing Obama from being elected, the birther movement should have ended. But the anti birthers were wrong as it wasn't about stopping Obama from being President for most as the birthers never called themselves birthers and only had unanswered suspicions they were being labeled for having by people who likewise had unanswered suspicions why the birthers would not accept Obama's COLB as proof of birth. But there was a huge difference between the two as the birthers never labeled their attackers by silly names... attacked them yes because they were attacked first... ask any question about the birth certificate and you were guaranteed any number of attacks and insults for doing it... and the birthers replied in kind.

Were there people who didn't care if Obama was a citizen or not? Yes there were and because these few existed, that justified saying all birthers were the same. The truth was that it was never the "birthers" creating the problem... it was the people labeling them birthers when they only had natural suspicions made worse by the attacks and ridicule from Obama's supporters.

But there were facts even from the start that gave proof the birthers were right about things not adding up and lies. One of the first lies told by Obama's followers was in relation to it being impossible for Obama's mother to have been in Kenya because of her pregnancy making travel impossible. They said the same thing about Obama's mother abandoning him within two weeks after he was born to travel to the US... then evidence emerged that she did just that traveling to Washington State where her presence was confirmed proving the anti birthers were not being truthful or did not know their facts like they asserted they did. But did she go to Kenya? No proof exists as yet to say she did... but no proof exists saying she didn't either and the assertions of the anti birthers regarding her trip to the mainland US after Obama was born proves they know no more about the facts surrounding Obama's birth than the birthers do.

While most birther ideas may have been proven false, one thing remained true... Obama was fighting and spending millions to avoid revealing his hospital birth records.

That's what made the birther movement explode after he was elected because all along it was never about the birthers... it was about the anti birthers. Like the anti communists of the 1950's, the anti birthers labeled anyone who opposed their views as birthers and like with the anti communists... the fact some people they attacked were communists gave truth to their accusations against others that they too were communists. This in turn began leading some anti communists to question the accusations as more and more people were clearly not communists... and then the anti communists turned on one another with threats and calling one another communists if they dared to ask any questions about what the anti communists believed or said.

The same is just as true today with the anti birthers as the reason the birther movement exploded after Obama was elected is because his refusal to reveal his hospital birth records created suspicions even among people who believed Obama was born in Hawaii and was a citizen. Why spend millions to fight revealing his hospital birth records? Why say he has nothing to hide but he's refusing to show his hospital birth records meaning what... he's hiding them from us?! With all the division in this country, why would he not do something so simple that anyone of us would do under far less pressing circumstances?

Question after question by people who believed Obama was born in Hawaii and because of that... the anti birthers turned on these people labeling them birthers also. The reason all the critics and opponents of the birthers have failed to get rid of them is that they have never understood that the birthers did not choose to be part of the birther movement... they were labeled birthers and anyone asking any questions the anti birthers didn't want asked about Obama's birth certificate was labeled a birther.

Let's say we examine one important aspect of Obama's birth records that is discussed but no one really understands the significance. Obama's mother is a US citizen and regardless if her marriage to his father was legal or not or if he was born outside the US... the COLB or shortform birth certificate could be given to him even if he were born in a foreign country. The reason is that regardless of all the things said about his mothers age and so forth, because she is a citizen, so would he be a citizen. However, while he may possess a COLB saying he is a US citizen, his hospital birth records would still tell the truth about where he was born.

Any child born of a US citizen holds US citizen status until they are 21. If at the age of 21 a US citizen born in a foreign country does not file proper status as a US citizen filling out the proper documentation, they lose their status as a citizen of the United States and retain only the citizenship status of the country they were born in.

It is very true that the COLB could say something other than the hospital birth records as just like his father could claim to be African and it be recorded that way instead of listing him as Negro which was common at the time, they based what they put on the COLB on what information they were given by the parents. The same was true of the newspaper clippings of his birth as hospitals didn't always report those... it was almost always the parents or grandparents just as it often is today.

Regardless of what the anti birthers say, all the unanswered questions and possibilities become more true because Obama refuses to reveal his hospital birth records. When they attack the birthers, that only makes their suspicions stronger and when they tell falsehoods like Obama's mother did not journey to the continental US shortly after Obama's birth... that makes them look as much like liars and loons as they say the birthers are. But the turning point came after Obama became President and the anti birthers turned on people who believed Obama was born in Hawaii but were suspicious as to why President Obama refused to show his hospital birth records. Enough proof and circumstantial evidence exists to back up the accusations he is not a citizen and wasn't born in the US to raise suspicions... and by refusing to show his hospital birth records, Obama himself creates further suspicions because such a harmless gesture on his part at a time the nation has become divided over this isue would mean much to those who have been falsely accused of being birthers and resolve most of the suspicions...

And all the birther movement has been about almost from the start are suspicions.


The only birth certificate I really care about is this one...




If Obama is a citizen of the United States and was born here, if he has nothing to hide as he claims he does not... then let him show his hospital birth records and end this. if he is not a US citizen and he was not born in Hawaii... then let him continue hiding his hospital birth records and it will haunt him his entire term in office never going away and not harming the Republicans at all because Obama gives truth to the suspicions when a simple act of revelation would end them.

Birthers are American citizens who have suspicions with a few who use the issue hoping beyond hope it will result in Obama being removed from office... this will not happen because even if he violated the law, the legal battles alone would keep him in office until the end of his term. The anti birthers are people whose support for President Obama is so blind they cannot accept that this issue is about suspicions first created by the incompetent managers of Obama's website and further inflamed by Obama's own refusal to show his hospital birth records. Because they cannot accept the simple truth, their own suspicions kicked in that there must be more to it than just the birth certificate and just as they branded Rush Limbaugh a racist because he opposed aid to Haiti when even they admit he didn't actually say or even imply anything racist... the anti birthers did the same thing labeling anyone voicing any suspicions about Obama's birth certificate as a racist, a hater and then a birther. When they attacked Rush Limbaugh as a racist while admitting he said nothing racist, they were admitting that they called him a racist for no other reason than the fact he is white and most haitians are black. Likewise, they labeled anyone a racist, a hater and a birther because most birthers were seen as white and Obama is black... nothing more, nothing less.

If the anti birthers want this issue to go away, they need to ask themselves if Obama has nothing to hide then why is he spending millions to hide his hospital birth records... and then they might understand why the birther movement exploded after he was elected... because even to millions of people who believe he was born in Hawaii, this made absolutely no sense and because of that... they became suspicious and the anti birthers labeled them as birthers to.

For anyone who disputes this...

Explain how people who believe Obama was born in Hawaii could be labeled as birthers as they cerrtainly wouldn't call themselves birthers... but people trying to shut them up and deny them their right to free speech would.
