    I'm afraid we're about down to one, and it's not us. It's China. Whether they'll stay in that position will depend a lot on where the U.S. goes from here. We're still a major player. We're in the same league, but we've had a bad season.

    We became a super power on borrowed money. That won't change until we decide to stop borrowing or have our credit shut down. Of course, the alternative is some form of compromise with the isolationists. That does not mean we spend the money on social programs instead. It means we stop spending that amount, period.
