Non believers, atheists, agnostics among others have referred to the Christian faith in a negative form. Are they aware these people are Christians as well?

This isn't even close to the list but it makes the point. Why do some non believers see believing as being weak?

It is truly a matter of perception, what one person sees as a weakness another sees as a strength. I could careless they see me as weak, small minded, dependent, a fool, spineless, cowardly, crazy, nuts, stupid, for believing in Jesus Christ. My love for Him will remain no matter what they say, because He first loved me.

It bothers their conscience, so they attack it. That's the way it works. Hitler did exactly that too. That's why he had all the jews killed. Righteous people offend the sinner.

When you say Righteous, do you really mean Gullible? Because when I walk round the street and I get 25-50 people lunging at my stuffing bits of paper with the name of god written on them in my face then yeah, I get pretty offended. But by saying you bother my conscience is the easy way out, because I sure as hell know that no religious person has ever made me consider my own views in a negative way.

They are convicted, but are rebelling against the voice of God. Look how Paul fought against God and killed Christians...it is the conviction of God calling out to them when they are lashing out so violently towards Christians. Some will heed the call, but some will never open their hearts to Him.

OOOHHH a football player and a supermodel are christians. thats definitely the amount of credibility i'm looking for.

A football player believes in the christian god. The Football player likes football. I like football. Therefore, if i believe in the christian god, i can play football.

Let me draw a parallel: Michael Phelps Smokes Pot. Michael Phelps is an olympic athlete. Therefore, if I smoke pot, I can be an olympic athlete.

People shouldn't take religion so seriously. It's like an outline that you must follow. And if you make one mistake, you're going to hell. I personally think it's ridiculous to bide by these made up rules. I'm not a believer & I'm not hating on the believers. I don't think others who do believe are weak, crazy, ignorant, or anything. It's their choice to live their life under religion. And I definitely don't care if any of those celebraties are Christians. They aren't going to make an impact on my choice.

Hitler practiced darwinism/evolution, showed it with his near extinction of the Jewish race, and signed two decrees against Christians.
Our activist judges rule against the Ten Commandments in a court house and yet most of the buildings in DC are covered with all manner of references to the Bible, including the Ten Commandments. How stupid are they?

You can't use Hitler as an example of athiests. He was an extreme case and actually has nothing to do with this argument.

Religion can be easily used as a tool to manipulate people. This does not mean that religious people are weak, but that it IS a "soft spot" where people can be manipulated, whether it be for money, political influence, etc. The level of abuse and hypocrisy that many religious leaders get caught in is indicative of this phenomenon. People who have a personal relationship with God, whether it is real or imagined, tend to have fewer problems than those who just want to "please the pastor". Organized religion, like education, is prone to abuse and politicians and profiteers are NOT stupid--there will always be people who wield God as a weapon against others.

Not at all in a negative form. I assure you, Christians do not look at you that way. This post was merely to question the non believers that call us names, would you say these people are what you describe us as. Just a thought. Not meant to offend. It went well at first...lol

1Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The Gospel by it's very nature, is irritating and foolish to those who don't know Him. It makes them uncomfortable and many times the response to their being uncomfortable, is to lash out.
