Are the Republicans on a witch hunt against Planned Parenthood?

bob 2011/10/06 18:09:02
The Republican have demanded reams and reams of documents from health clinics across the country
Now the Republican are threatening, again, to strip Planned Parenthood of vital federal funding for services like cancer screenings and family planning.
So I guess Republican think that health services are only for the utlra-wealthy 1%
the Republicans ARE on a witch hunt against Planned Parenthood

No, actually I dont. It's good having you freely admit you don't mind murder as a convenient mothed of birth control - as opposed to self control. The 'unwanted fetuses' as you call them are actually people. Hitler dehumanized a class of citizens he weanted to kill, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot too. In fact all liberals and tyrants do it. The unborn just happen to be your unwanted class of people.

Republicans -- myself included -- want to see Planned Parenthood destroyed once and for all. It is one of the most evil organizations on the face of the earth -- the number of innocent babies it has brutally murdered is staggering. Stalin and Hitler put together did not kill even close to the amount of people that Planned Parenthood has massacred.

It's such a joke. I work with all these right wing nuts who are the biggest whores, cheaters, spreaders of STD's, home-wreckers, out-of-wedlock baby-makers, bisexuals, repressed homosexuals....I could go on all night. They sit here and talk about how everyone else should live their lives because they screwed up so royally!

It's all about wanting power and control over other people they have no business with in the first place. Makes them feel better about their own screwed up lives (and those that have suffered because of them). Read the book Republican Gomorrah: Inside The Movement That Shattered The Party-it will give you a good idea of what kind of lives they lead.

you want to murder an innocent baby, do it on your own dime. do not use my tax money for it.
I'll respect your choices enough to not want to see any regulation of this at a federal level, but do not attempt to use my tax money to do it. you can respect my beliefs that much at least.

Quit using my dime to pay for the ridiculous "faith-based" scams which put churches in charge of schools and social services. Why don't you respect the fact that I, as an atheist, have to pay for that?

That's odd, every school that I know of that is associated with a church, is totally private and pulls no money from the tax base--in fact, they have to pay in payroll taxes and the like.
If that's happening where you are that's a local or state issue. you have the power to deal with that, so stop whining to me about it.
besides, you're comparing schooling and social services to institutionalized, systematic infanticide. you're past the point of apples and oranges and into comparing apples to basketballs.

No one is whining to you. You're on an opinion website. Is that how you deal with opposing ideas?

It's odd. Google federal faith-based initiatives and see where tax money is going. Schools affiliated with big name evangelicals are raking in thousands. Go take a look and don't assume anyone wants to whine to you. And put your money where your mouth is-become legally responsible for an unwanted fetus, from cradle to age 18. Responsible for child care, finances, everything. Then come talk to me.

While it is true that there is no single 100% effective method of contraception, combining multiple forms of contraception can raise the odds to very nearly 100%.

Inability to control any of those baser instincts puts you on the same level as an animal. I have as little respect for those that cannot control their laziness or their culinary appetite as I do for those that cannot control their sexual appetite. My weight problem didn't come about until after a Navy surgeon crippled me for life, and I still carefully evaluate everything I eat or drink.
That's my solution to the problem. When people start behaving like humans instead of thinking animals the issue of unwanted fetuses goes away. So too do many of the other problems facing us today.

And it's pretty obvious that you only read what you like, since you obviously missed the "I'll respect your choices enough to not want to see any regulation of this at a federal level"
Which means that I am not one of the ones attempting to pass legislation against it. I live my life by example.
My present position of inability to care for a child is one of the reasons I've been celibate for over 6 years. When my financial situation changes, I'll start dating again. Until then, I'm not going to place myself in a situation where I may have a child I cannot care for. You see, I practice what I preach. My money IS where my mouth is--I can't care for a child, so I don't risk starting one. I'm taking responsibility for my actions, thanks. I also took care of my ex-wife's child for 8 years so she could track down the kid's real father. If I hadn't done so, she would have aborted the child. Again, my money, roughly $75,000 of it, went where my mouth is.
and as for federal funding? I personally don't think any federal money of any kind should be going to schools, I think it should be handled at the state and local levels and the private sector. if the state or local levels want to turn it over to churches, then that's something to be handled at that level, where you have more direct control over the matter. That's the position I've always espoused. Does it make you happier than the current situation?

Bob, I've run the gamut of religions over the years, starting as growing up in a fundamentalist christian household and running through several new-age religions including Wicca before coming back to Christianity, albeit a less rabid version than the fundamentalists preach. so as a former practicing member a religion that most consider to be "witchcraft" I'm disappointed in you, and a bit offended.
you do realize that the "suffer not a witch to live" is actually a deliberate mistranslation, right? It goes back to a Hebrew word for "caster of harmful spells" or "poisoner." And yes, there was a distinction between those who cast harmful spells and those who cast beneficial ones; one of the reason that the Hebrews had difficulty accepting Christ as the son of God was that the only miracle he performed that had not been done earlier was raising the dead. All the others had been done by the casters of beneficial spells, which were, ironically enough, all seen as rabbis or minor prophets.

Conservatives believe that sex outside of marriage is a sin and sin must be punished. Pregnancy is that punishment, so by using birth control or abortion services you are avoiding Gods punishment. Therefore it's up to the GOP to act for God and administer the punishment themselves.
