While the Democratic talking points try to portray the Republicans as waging a war on Women, the most egregious examples of wage disparity are all Democrats:
Patty Murray (D., Wash.) who has repeatedly accused Republicans of waging a “war a women,” is one of the worst offenders. Female members of Murray’s staff made about $21,000 less per year than male staffers in 2011, a difference of 35.2 percent.
That is well above the 23 percent gap that Democrats claim exists between male and female workers nationwide. The figure is based on a 2010 U.S. Census Bureau report, and is technically accurate. However, as CNN’s Lisa Sylvester has reported, when factors such as area of employment, hours of work, and time in the workplace are taken into account, the gap shrinks to about 5 percent.
A significant “gender gap” exists in Feinstein’s office, where women also made about $21,000 less than men in 2011, but the percentage difference—41 percent—was even higher than Murray’s.
The pay differential is quite striking in some cases, especially among leading Democrats. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.), who runs the Senate Democratic messaging operation, paid men $19,454 more on average, a 36 percent difference.
Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D., Ill.) paid men $13,063 more, a difference of 23 percent.
Other notable Senators whose “gender pay gap” was larger than 23 percent: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.)—47.6 percent Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D., N.M.)—40 percent Sen. Jon Tester (D., Mont.)—34.2 percent Sen. Ben Cardin (D., Md.)—31.5 percent Sen. Tom Carper (D., Del.)—30.4 percent Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.)–29.7 percent Sen. Kent Conrad (D., N.D.)–29.2 percent Sen. Bill Nelson (D., Fla.)—26.5 percent Sen. Ron Wyden (D., Ore)—26.4 percent Sen. Tom Harkin (D., Iowa)—23.2 percent
There are talking points and there is a compliant liberal press...
Why do Republicans have the habits of taking other people ideas, and making it their own! Republicans are the ones that always wage war on women. Democrats are the ones that are protective of women. I think you had a few drink when you were asking this question.(:
As to pay disparity - let's see the figures in R's staffs as well for a point of comparison... As to the 'war on women' I think that 'war' term is vastly overused by the right and the left as in 'the war on religion', 'the war on capitalism', etc... Beyond that, as to matters of policy, Republican opposition to Lilly Ledbetter, state level birth control and choice laws proposed and enacted, all obviously point out a very different view on gender issues in the Republican Party vs, the Democrats. In addition it's also obvious by the 10 fold increase in proposed legislation that there is a an organized and coordinated effort to go 50 years back in time with respect to reproductive health rights.
You're one of the most delusional, pathetic people on here. Nobody is actually buying the BS republicans say about democrats. u do you see a wave of people running to to the city clerk's office to change their political party to republican party? No. In reality, not in Your little pathetic, imaginary world, most people are running to the city clerk's office to register themselves as independent. Proof; Tell me why today more people identify Themselves as independents than they do republicans? The republican party is losing more ground than than ever. They're pathetic. and You think you can buy more votes trying to scare the daylights out of people into voting for you with propaganda video clips and banners? clearly it's not working.
More proof Romney is in trouble: Obama is ahead in the polls in 8 of 10 swing states by more than 3 points. Regardless of the margins in mostly red or blue states, with an electoral college swing states decide the winner. The polls hold true in the voting booth in November, the president wins re-election.
Obama = 274 delegates as of today Romney = 170 delegates as of today
This is before the gloves come off. We've heard about this President's record for the last 3 yrs. Now we get to hear more about the Etch-a-Sketch man. This President needs 6 more ...

This President needs 6 more delegates by Nov to win. Wall st may not like him but they get rich with him and that's the bottom line. That negates Romney's influence. He make promises but he has to deliver first. President Obama already has.
Blacks feel neglected sometimes but they ain't going GOP over it. Latinos rather take their chances with Pres. Obama than the hate from the GOP Romney would head up. Gays are sure as HA-YALLLE not gonna go GOP and seniors are too scared not to. The kids and the independents will decide this race and Pres. Obama has already started on solutions to Romney telling them to 'borrow the money' from broke parents.
Ohio and Florida are the key states for Obama - Florida does not trust Romney. That will trump less than enthusiastic about Obama. Ohio is the one key state in real play... Colorado undoes states like Georgia in the south. The NW is negated by the vastly more populous east coast.
Good luck in November. You're gonna need all the help you can get, your voter ID laws, which is all bullcrap, are getting blocked by federal judges, state judges, and the dept if justice. So, like I said, good luck.
I have seen the recovery of the Romney numbers with women and while still at a substantial disadvantage, it is interesting. So what to you say to explain the 10 fold growth of abortion related state proposals almost exclusively in R states as well as the Blunt amendment and of course opposition to Lilly Ledbetter fair pay act. There's clearly a different view of womens reproductive rights and the right to recover damages from discriminatory practices. I think WAR is the wrong word but 'regressive' (going back to the 50s) is clearly accurate. Can you argue that with clear, concise and cogent reasoning?
It is really sad and pathetic that liberal loons like you keep saying that Republicans want to curtail women's reproductive right.... NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
REPUBLICANS WILL NEVER REPEAL ROE V. WADE.
Push this red hearing all you want.... won't work.
Second of all, it's embarrassing that you fell for the Lilly Con:
Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act won't close wage gap between men and women...
The first bill President Obama signed was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which provides women and minorities with critical tools to challenge discriminatory pay practices. In overturning a misguided Supreme Court opinion limiting pay equity suits, the act marks an important step forward but, by itself, it is unlikely to close the wage gap between men and women.
It's a familiar fact that women working full time earn 78 cents for every $1 earned by men. But this wage differential looks very different for women with and without children.
Single women with no children working full time make 96 cents for every $1 earned by a similarly situated man.
Maryland senator Barbara Mikulski just announced that Democrats will be bringing up a pay equity bill after Memorial Day, sometime in June. The thing is, Congress already passed pay equity legislation, and President Obama signed that...

Maryland senator Barbara Mikulski just announced that Democrats will be bringing up a pay equity bill after Memorial Day, sometime in June. The thing is, Congress already passed pay equity legislation, and President Obama signed that bill into law--the Lilly Ledbetter Act--in January 2009.
“We passed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act -- the first bill I signed -- so that equal pay for equal work is a reality all across this country," President Obama said in June 2009, taking political points for this legislative act. In December of last year, Obama said something similar: "Change is the very first bill I signed, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which says in this country an equal day's work gets an equal day's pay. That's change."
So if a bill that supposedly ensures pay equity is already on the books, why are Senate Democrats intent on pushing for another one?
FALL FOR ANOTHER CON?
Female employees in the Obama White House make considerably less than their male colleagues, records show.
According to the 2011 annual report on White House staff, female employees earned a median annual salary of $60,000, which was about 18 percent less than the median salary for male employees ($71,000).
EDUCATE YOURSELF FIRST.... YOUR DEMOCRAPS SELL YOU A BILL OF GOODS AND YOU FALL FOR IT EVERY TIME... GET OFF THE KOOL-AID FOR YOUR OWN SAKE.
The House Dems blocked a bill that would have prevented gender-based abortions. Primarily female fetuses If that's not a war on women, I don't know what is.
cut and paste response, very very poor, and boring AND not even relevent because abolishing contraception is NOT the point cutting womens rights over their own bodies IS.
And wasn't it Jan Brewer, (R) Gov. of Arizona that signed inot law some jackass bill that said in essence that a woman is preganat 2 WEEK BEFORE she conceives?

I never mentioned Lily so please stop making ad hominems and strawmen, with incomplete comparisons , so lame of you. There are more than a few talibangelicals whose final solution IS to repeal Roe vs Wade. To deny that fact making you look ignorant. Are you denying the information I gave you in the previous post ???? Im VERY versed on the war on women. You obviously dont have a clue beyond the pap you dribble.
If they were going to repeal it genius, they would have done it in 2002 after they waxed the Dumbocraps in the Mid-Terms and had absolute power... BUT THEY NEVER EVEN MENTIONED IT.... WAKE UP.
Like I said... ROE V. WADE WILL NEVER GET OVERTURNED.
BTW Obama's "Women protecting Administration" is AWOL on all these laws? WHAT... THE SHOCK!
Holder's DOJ is too busy suing states that want to prevent dead people from voting, or suing states that want to protect their boarders, or sending 2,000+ guns to Mexican Drug Cartels??
I THOUGHT OBAMA WAS FIGHTING FOR WOMEN'S RIGHT!?!?!
OH... THE HUMANITY....
How does it feel to be used by Obama and his Administration?
republicans tend to have low IQs and don't take to the time to research. they are too dumb to realize it is actually the republicans waging a war on women.
Democrats have been using women for years in their attempts to get votes. They've told women that they should believe certain things or feel a certain way and if they didn't somebody was taking advantage of them and they need the democrats to help them. They don't give women credit for being able to think on their own and take care of themselves. It's the same crap democrats have been pulling on other minorities for decades.
Nobody falls for that BS about Republicans wanting to take contraception away from women.
THAT is why Romney is up 13% with Women and Obummbler has FALLEN 7% with women in the latest LEFT WING ABC/WaPo poll.
Sorry to bust your bubble but nobody is falling for the Obama/Biden con job THIS TIME...
