I don't think bashing anybody is right, however, the response of christian bashers is directly correlated to the amount of hatred and ignorance that christians impose on others. If christians stopped being so self righteous and bigoted then the christian bashing would stop. . . if christian bashers stop bashing christians. . . . well. . . . christians would just keep it up regardless.

The bible thumpers on the right generally ignore Jesus' teachings. You know such lessons as love your neighbor as yourself and the golden rule. Instead they believe it is perfectly all right to blow away your neighbor if he looks different.

What is better are the Christians on the left. The Unitarians and Quakers for example are closer to Jesus' teachings than hypocritical fundies.

This country is Christian leaning, and it feels like sometimes Christians say things just to rub it in other's faces. Thing like "one nation, UNDER GOD" or "in GOD we trust" or "It's CHRISTMAS, NOT HOLIDAYS." I feel inclined to make comments such as the Under god and In God we trust wasn't added until 1954 for Cold war propaganda, and that Happy Holidays is just to be respectful to everyone. I also feel inclined to point out facts, like evolution, climate change, and the fact the the Earth is older than 4000 years. Also, you CAN explain why the tide goes in and out, Mr. O'Riley. Even Gingrich knows that.

I rest my case.

However they are using religion as an excuse to insult or attempt to oppress other. They bashers will insult and degrade anyone who is Christian, eve if the person is a very moderate and kind Christian.

I know many religious people who aren't extreme, judgmental, imposing, or swearing you are going to hell because you're a non-believer, or don't believe what they believe. They are very Live and Let Live. If there is a heaven and Hell it's gods job to sort it out.
I know Agnostics and Atheists who are fine with the spiritual and religious even friendly with them. Who don't feel the need to disprove the existence of God, or simply point out that the proof is hard to prove.
