Police get rigorous training on the proper use of the "less-than-lethal" Taser. It gives law enforcement another option to turn to instead of a deadly firearm.
I trust it in the hands of the police more than in the hands of some people I know ;)
Plus, it gives us classics like: "Don't Tase me bro!"
Are tasers safe in the hands of police?

Is a police officer any more trustworthy than the general public in the use of electrical stimuli?

Still better than this...
Tasers don't hurt people people hurt people.
In some places, cops can be friends and in others they can be deadlier than the worst of the gangs and mobs.
Yesterday my girl friend parked her car in the loading zone at the grocery store at around 10 in the morning to run in and pick some things up for her store (she works at another store). Three mins later she came out with a shopping court full of stuff, and her uniform on and a cop was giving her a ticket. I hate it when people do there shopping as they park in the loading zone. But three mins, and a ticket? He said he even knew she had only been there for three mins.
Bottom line is some cops feel they have poor so want to you it all. Thats why I dont know if cops should have taser's. Also look at that 15year old girl her was out to late, and the cop used a taser on her.
Philadelphia averages a murder a day. These are brave people working a very hard job. Their salaries range from $33,861 to $47,027. I don't think that's nearly enough.
(Whatever happens don't give one to my girlfriend.)
